Agree he is probably the most defensive minded manager i have ever seen down at VP and that's quite a few but why do we suddenly after the "magic" hour mark throw Oteh on and he gets a goal
I think he does know how to play attacking football but for some reason chooses not to especially as the standard in L2 is so poor Give Vaughan and Doyle to any other manager in this league and they will get a tune out of them

I can't watch it, but recognise that the majority just want a City win, most of the people I've ever gone to VP with have only been interested in a City win, they haven't the faintest clue what's happening right in front of them. I think it's a shit squad, a very shit one without Devitt and Donaldson so despite everything the manager is doing a good job, for the majority.

Agree with your analysis. One of the most important things you need to address as a manager the ability to say what you are good at and what you are not, and a plan to address how you improve. I don’t know whether it is stubbornness, but he certainly doesn’t change his main intention with the team which is to set us up not to lose. It is such a waste of our very considerable attacking options.

4-4-2, 5-3-2, 3,5,2, 4-3-3, Etc, The man is a tinkerman, no wonder the defence is all over the place at times, For gods sake pick a formation that suits the players we have and one you can believe in and stick with it and stop messing around, Consistency breeds success,
Oh and BTW get rid of that Loser assistant manager coach, Bring someone in that is positive and breeds confidence and proper coaching ability, Do that or go and let someone else do the job you are struggling with

The fans will be happy if we win games and score goals, it doesn’t matter what system we play. Of course we need to be strong in defence which we have generally been, but it has taken at least half the midfield to maintain it. We also don’t have any pace in the midfield further making it difficult to take the ball forward. We have a lot of defensive midfielders, but a ball carrying box to box we don’t have. If we can find one of them in the January sales that would be good. That would suit both Doyle and Vaughan.

I don't think we have anyone at City who has any idea about coaching players it needs to be changed or it will cost Bowyer his job.

I have been down there on a couple of occasions at the beginning of the season, and I had no idea what they were trying to coach the players to do, apart from a bit of cardio, and a practice at shooting, that went well, not! I am no expert on coaching professionals but I expected it to be a bit more organised and professional tbh. However, I think you are right about coaching, an area we have neglected in recent times. This includes the young ones!! Don’t expect anything coming through either.

i think if we knew the constraints that Bowyer has to work under we might a have a fair bit of sympathy for him in this respect. I'll tell you now, the club has no spare money, the effects of Rahic still determine day to day workings and will do for some time.

Well the owner has to dig deep then. He can afford too.

For me he has to show he wants to move this club forward. I don't see it as yet.

This is the bit I don't get, it was not the formation/system that made yesterdays defeat demoralising it was the players on the pitch who aren't capable of taking it from the training pitch and duplicating it in the real game.
In that system your wideman has to produce unfortunately he didn't it was probably Connolly's worst game for us and although Taylor was playing wider on the left he offered little, your other two midfield players rarely got across the halfway line.
The question I would have asked was why Bowyer didn't change the formation at half time or introduce the players he did at half time baffling, how many times have we said of the away team coming to Valley Parade and going in a goal or two down they looked a different side second half, we had nothing to lose, what difference would keeping the same system/formation make for the extra 15 minutes after half time, it made little sense.

Does not stop him coaching and preparing the team well which on most showings seems to be absent or at best woeful

Pep just said before City's against Villa when asked about changes and formation that it's the application and principle that's needs to stay the same.

Deeney when asked what Pearson has changed at Watford. He makes us fight for the ball and we have gone back to basics.

How Bowyer sets us out is negative and boring. He's the problem.

Well I am yet to see Bowyer doing well as a Bradford City manager.

He is firmly the problem but we live in hope.

Top priority for me is promotion this season and so I don't care if we win games ugly and it's boring as long as we do win. As a club we are massively under achieving and have been for years. Our fans deserve much better imho.

Its not for me but l think the large majority think like you and hopefully the manager will deliver.

I have sympathy for him, he's being asked to get us up, in an entertaining fashion, after a 2 year shit show & a huge player turnaround.

Hard to disagree with this. I have no real desire to watch god awful league 2 football, i won't be that particularly thrilled even if we do get promotion. Its a means to an end i guess to get out of this dire division. In a sense i do feel sympathy for him, in a sense i don't think he helps himself. Not to bothered whether Bowyer keeps his job or not, plenty of others to take his place if he gets the boot. There'd be a queue round the block right now if he'd got the sack this morning.
