Sack the manager

I was meaning no return on the wages etc they have/are paying Bowyer & Drury, yes you would hope the new man would turn it around, but as we know no guarentees in football.

Sparks said the players that left, left for footballing decisions. However, I hear that it was Rhodes decision to sell Doyle and Bowyer didn't want too. Bowyer went on record in the summer he wanted to keep Doyle. Vaughan we know fell out with Bowyer.

Vaughan still have 2 years left on his contract when he comes back!

So, yes Doyle and Vaughan have gone but the replacements that came in was because we were ratting about trying to bring players in. These players were not identified by a scouting network because we don't have one! Sparks admitted we put in plenty of offers for players.

So, to say he's saving money etc isn't really true as Vaughan has 2 years left and the two new players that came in are here until the end of next season. Doyle was out of contract in the summer!

Bowyer has come out today and said he's clueless to what's happening.. He's not saying he needs time with his new players etc because he knows about as much about them as you do!

Football is based on results and Bowyer's results are not good enough.

Fans don't like him and it's not going to change! The longer we keep him the more people lose faith in Rupp and Rhodes. Needs to go!

 

Any news from VP yet? Is GB in any meetings or is he "taking training"?

 

Hopefully he is concentrating on the next two home games which could get us back on track. That’s the important thing

 

Without the fans..there is no business. Already have the lease of the ground round our necks.

 

We ain't gonna sack him, neither Rhodes or Rupp have the inclination to do anything they see as a risk at this moment. The club has no direction whatsoever at the moment, there is no blueprint aiming to take this club forward. So with Bowyer still here for the foreseeable future the first thing he has to do is help himself. Stop this ridiculous notion of 7 at the back, it's killing any sort of potential as a team and has drained every last ounce of confidence out of the players. Go back to a 4 at the back where BRE can be a defender again, AOC can be the ball player. The two full backs can concentrate on being their true roles as defenders. Then give the midfielders half a chance by picking the rest of the attack as a go forward unit, there's a reason the ball keeps going back to defenders, it's because you as a manager have given them no attacking options. For now for me the result is of secondary importance, all this guff about being happy scraping wins has helped get us into this mess. Set out the team to play football, give the players some enjoyment back. I can guarantee they hate having to play to this sort of defensive mindset. Let them express themselves, we may lose, but if we don't go for a least a shot or two on target we will never win. Bowyer is the reason this negativity has crept in over the last two or three months, even he's not daft enough to keep playing the same way.

 

And no business no football club for said fans to support

 

My club irrelavant of the owner or manager, I accept it's not good but I cant boycott certainly home games, but if other fans feel that's what's required I wouldn't criticise them for making their stance.

 

Mate, he isn't going to change his style now. We are in Feb and his football has been dire since he's been here!

What had been proved is results are not more important than performances. They are equally as important. Dull uninspiring football is a negative breeding ground that has a knock on effect elsewhere. Good performances will nigh on every time be awarded with maximum points. Very very rare a good performance gives no reward. And I can count on one hand the good performances this season.

 

I think he's is daft enough. This shite is his philosophy and he isn't going to change because he's too stubborn. I can guarantee the approach will be the same on saturday although we may have a 10 minute spell at the start before the energy runs out.

 

Rhodes has had all season so far to replace himself and has abjectly failed, one candidate moving on to a proper footy club.
They are still in cheap mode so even if City find another Baldwin how do you keep him here, you move onto better clubs.

 

You are right we don’t view it with the same hard head but surely the balance sheet is significantly down to tune of thousands of pounds week on week with poor attendances and stay away fans. The business is losing significant money now and that will influence Rupp over and above ST sales.

Rupp must have a nice little spreadsheet showing him bottom line each month, perhaps he doesn’t know the ground is slowly getting emptier and just sees a few k saved on wages instead.

I do also fear Bowyer is going to get longer, that’s a huge gamble for Rupp as the season could be gone with 3 more indifferent results, and then the ground really will be empty.

we have all seen it before, only two well, once the rot sets in its hard to stop it, Bowyer had no real positive impact during that scenario last season, but change does happen for the better , new managers come in and that belief and desire returns to a club and teams go on a run.

Ultimately, for this season and going up, face it we’re screwed!

Think he did offer it to someone but he took another job but nothing since.

No worries he's getting paid .. he will be fine but the club won't.

 

i agree that is how we are being run. Where I disagree with both Rupp and Rhodes if he agrees with Rupp is this. It is such a retrograde way of running things when they only way you see profit is to keep cutting back and deprive the very business of investment you are trying to promote so you can sell it.

 

He can concentrate on them as much as he likes but given he has publicly stated he hasn't got a clue what to do to improve things, I don't hold out much confidence of that working.

 

Our home record is good we have every chance of six points over the next two games

 

I disagree we’ll be a lot down on ticket sales. Our season tickets are so dirt cheap most who attend have one, or at least a flexi. When you consider some are OAPs and children I’d be surprised if it’s down a lot at all. Rhodes will be happy with the savings made this window.

 

What if we carry on our form over the last 7 games? What will you say then?
