Very good point about Paudie playing in a 3. As much as I like the lad, he should have had to bide his time in getting into the team in a back 4. Breaking up the partnership of AOC and BRE in a 4, the way they started the season, is mind blowingly madness

 

Completely agree, it felt like he was shoehorned in just to keep him happy. I still maintain that if Bowyer was insistent on playing Paudie, he should have moved AOC to defensive mid and kept four at the back.

 

Even before this game the defence have shown signs of cracking. They obviously play a lot better as part of a back 4 but I fear than they generally aren't as good as we think they are.

 

The two centre backs have been the strong point of the season so far, that and the form of our keeper. To hang them out to dry like that today was unfair and potentially a form breaker.

Maybe Rhodes is the one who needs sacking. Two managers since he returned haven’t looked like turning us around. If my manager kept hiring people who failed at their work, her position would be looked at from above. When he was with us before, how many times did we fail with managerial appointments before we stumbled on Parkinson?

 

It seems as though he is our first choice mf which I find worrying. Needs a determination transplant.

 

If you remove Parkinson from his record, then his tenure has pretty much meant managers that haven't succeeded and a steady fall through the football league. It wasn't that long ago that City were beating Sheff Utd at VP, today they're drawing with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premiership whilst City are losing to Crewe in the lowest football league.

I like 442 especially in this league because teams don't allow you to play football.
However I thought today's formation would suit the players we have. But Bowyer is definitely right when he says formations don't win games players do

 

Overall Crewe were the better team today BUT the two goals they scored were poor defending.

 

Absolute fkn awful recruitment definitely loses you games though.

You clearly have a negative agenda towards the club based on the content of your recent posts.

 

You would hope Bowyer brought players into the club who he believes can play his formation/system but its easy to make comments "formations don't win games players do" players have to be capable/confident of playing the formation they are requested to play.
Within a game players might be asked to change formations a couple of time whilst introducing the 3 subs, he certainly wont get the best from his squad with comnents like that, because with regards a similar comment formations don't lose you games players do.

It was always gonna leave space down the flanks. it took Crewe about half an hour to work this out. Once they had Bowyer had no answer to it.

Bowyer can whinge as much as he wants, it was his tinkering with the bloody formation that lost us the game, not indivdual errors. Man up and admit you got it wrong instead of blaming individuals.
