If Rowe was causing trouble (we’ll never know for certain but its clear something has gone on for him to get zero minutes the last two games....the time he was dropped with ‘flu symptoms’ also smelt a bit fishy) then good on Ryan for cutting him loose.

We paid a nominal fee, if we can recoup most of it (who knows if we have) then fair enough.

Not tolerating mediocrity, I like it from Ryan. Rowe was the wrong fit for us.

 

If he wasn't the right fit for us, we shouldn't have signed him in the first place. For all this 'due diligence' Sparks was banging on about in January it looks like a poor transfer from start to finish.

 

Agree. Wasn't the right fit. But its good that’s been acknowledged and he’s been cut loose.

i think there’s more to it myself though. Don’t think all was well between him and the group. You dont leave him benched for the last two games if he’s part of the group. We had Paudie upfront late on the other week.....i mean Christ on a bike.....we are well rid of he’s caused trouble back stage, as was the case at Oldham

You are part right mate but so is Fordy. After safety was achieved with the lack of standout teams in this league the play-offs were there for the taking. Even with the lack of quality in our squad there was enough there when we played with the right tempo. A couple of leaders in there would have made a big difference, a captain in the Gary Jones mould, we lacked a leader out on the pitch.
In the summer yes we need quality and a bit more pace but another priority is a player at centre half of central midfield who is a leader and who we can give the captaincy to.

 

Is that common knowledge or a twitter rumour?

 

The club is a laughing stock. Rupp need to get over here and sort this bloody mess out!!!

2) Sell their ground to Aldi
3) Transfer all their players to Bradford city (on a free)
4) Pay off/sack all our current players ex Cook, Cooke and Hornby
5) Job done, promotion in 12 months......

Do we know he was a trouble maker, is it deemed causing trouble if he's telling T&S he wants regular football, and obviously feels he could do a job if picked lets be fair we've looked toothless recently.
The telling factor for me is that he puts him on the bench (even though he's a trouble causer) we are losing a game that we need all 3 points from if we are to give ourselves any chance of a top 7 finish but they stubbornly stick with the same attacking player until they bring Donaldson on in the 91st minute, if I was in Rowe's shoes I'd be in T&S ear.

 

You dont leave a proper striker on the bench and play a CB upfront, when said ST isnt injured, unless there is something going on behind the scenes.

 

We dont know and we dont have a right to know as fans either. Stuff should be managed in house and has been dealt with here it seems.

actions speak louder than words and in dropping him like a hot potato the club are saying we are well rid - just as Oldham couldnt wait to get him out.

he had his chance and didn’t take it. Cook is a much better player and contributes more. Also has a better pedigree given his Walsall goals.

 

I believe his contract at Oldham was up in summer, they are a basket case of a club and I would suggest it was the temptation of a fee that was the deciding factor.
There is no doubt Cook overall had been more constant than Rowe although as I posted Rowe was very much involved with our initial good turn of fortunes that helped us climb the league table, but once we became stagnant and couldn't buy a win T&S stayed with the same formation with Cook being the striker in form.

So to sum up we don't actually know about Rowe being a trouble causer from Marks comments on the club website
