Agree with a lot of that but I think we also need to give him a proper chance to deliver on the areas he is indicating will be changed this summer. It is not his fault the bar has been set so low for the past few years and his willingness to communicate with us (the fans) is a big plus in my eyes. Yes talking the talk is one thing and walking the walk another - but this guy warrants our support as I believe he is going to give progressing the club a real shot

He won't say so publicly but privately, I bet Ryan is absolutely seething. Whether we had made the play offs or not, playing with intention to get there would have been exactly what he wanted for part of the marketing campaign for season tickets but now he doesn't have that, what's he going to use to excite people to renew or buy? Also, I bet a few weeks ago he was anticipating bumper sales of ifollow passes for the last few games but now, I reckon they'll be lucky to sell a couple of hundred per game. I'll probably watch the remaining home games if I'm not doing anything else, but only because I've already paid for them. I have no interest whatsoever in watching the remaining away fixtures so won't be buying passes for those games and I imagine many will feel the same.

So frustrating. Not sure how next seasons gonna be an improvement in terms of management either. People already calling for T&S's heads when its looking likely they'll be in charge come next season.

Further to last night's meeting with Ryan (https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/ryan-sparks.4503/page-57#post-489167), it's probably worth mentioning a few extra points:

Regarding the ground and the high rental, Ryan said that the Club is looking at its options and there are plenty of potential locations for a new ground, but he was clear that we would be looking at £30m to £40m, money which we currently do not have. I suspect, at least for the time being, any talk of a new ground is more of a negotiating point than a realistic option, but the Club are looking and things can change.

Regarding next season's playing budget, Ryan indicated that it is likely to be less than this season's £2.3m, but that is not as much of an issue as it sounds, because we would be 'losing' our highest earners at the end of this season, so there would be plenty of scope for bringing in players (and there will be a lot of incoming players).

Regarding general funding of the Club, Ryan again mentioned that the overall objective for the Club is to be self sustaining. However, he did say that if a significant investment to take the Club forward was identified, he believed that Stefan would provide the necessary backing.

He saw the current strategy as being to get the Club to top of League One/ mid Championship, at which point new investment would be required to take the Club higher.

The new heritage shirt was also mentioned in passing. No more clues as to what next season's shirts will look like, but we can expect are first look at them probably at the beginning of July.

Cheers Stafford, not impressed with the playing budget likely to be less but maybe more scope for City to bring in more bang average L2 players now our high earners and strikers have gone.
Not feeling the ambition here and if it is the strategy to get the club to the top of League One/mid Champ then Turnbull and the managers are really going to have to earn their money.

Its how you spend the budget. Derek Adams doing a wonderful job at Morecambe on a budget less than half of ours was for this season

Possibly feels we can attract hungry players who are determined to progress rather than high earners on the way down. Anyone know what Nahki originally signed for?

Never works. Need leaders and quality to get you out of this league.

Plenty of locations for a new ground? Get out of it, probably two locations at best. Immaterial anyway because no new ground is getting built in Bradford. Gibb ain't falling for that bollocks.

Very true Park, I remember the Plonkinson comments in his first season, and let’s get rid of this clown on the Claret and Banter message board when he struggled and we had a fight on our hands to avoid the drop.

We don't need 11 leaders and the unknown Nahki did turn out to be much higher quality than some we have bankrolled recently. Get the mix right and we can get the results. Don't know the budgets of the teams above us but sure at least two thirds will be lower than the figures being talked about for our next season.

Not the kind of PR speil that's going to get folk rushing to buy season tickets... I do hope there's a plan because we've seen enough bang average players to last a lifetime
