CEO's are judged over time - certainly longer than 12 months. But all in all, I think he's doing well. More positives than negatives and certainly a more forward thinking CEO than Rhodes was. He very much needs to get this manager decision right though.

I've seen nothing to suggest that Ryan is a capable CEO. The appointment wreaked of the cheapest possible appointment.
I get the feeling that tosh We Keep Fighting video was his doing which has appeared on Twitter and Facebook.
Bradford are heading for relegation and still people think we are too big to go down.
We are no bigger club that Notts County, Wrexham, Stockport, etc who are already down there. We had two years in the sun but beyond that our level has been tier 3 & 4 so the fact tier 5 is on the cards won't come as a suprise to many.
We are were we are on merit, with rudderless leadership at all levels and people recruited because they had one good game against us (Samuels) or because they were cheap and lived in the areas (DMH).Mason Handshake, Parader, Fordy117 and 2 others like this. -
Its hardly like we were firing on all cyclinders with Novak, Clarke and Guthrie fit anyway. None got any service and none will stop the silly mistakes at the back or us having nothing on the wings or getting outfought in CM.

Time will tell who is right, but Sparks isn’t going any where any time soon so you will have to accept it. You can whinge and whine like a toddler all you like but Ryan Sparks is the CEO and I don’t see that changing.Solentbantam, Inspector, Keefly Bantam and 2 others like this. -
Even with the Associate Directors involved its gone backwards!
I don't believe the club will do down but we are the aims of the club? Its gone so far backwards that now its just to stay in the football league. It's a joke!
Support the club - Don't take the mick mate. We have supported the club and if Ryan was honest at the forum saying that he didn't believe that we would go up then in these difficult times people would then make a clear decision to buy a season ticket or not.
Who made the decision to extend McCall's contract? We all know he isn't good enough. As a player for the club the best as a manager totally shocking.
What you you prising now trying to hire someone for recruitment? Why not a DOF or a Sporting Director?
One of these days we will meet Rodger. I will give you a family car wash ticket for the year but soon we will meet face to face but no rubbish restaurants or cheap Morrisions wine . I met Edin once and that was enough to tell me this club is a mess.
Think all this to me just seems like Rupp isn't interested in the club which is fine but don't expect fans to be.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bantamsteve, bantamdave41, Craven Cottager and 2 others like this. -

You don't recall, for example, unrest when Parky walked out on the club? That alarm bells that set off?
You don't recall people objecting to the master plan that involved wasting resources on another failed development squad?
That's funny.
I do. -
It's ALL about mis-management at Board level imo and in the dug out. Was there EVER a plan to achieve or demonstrate ambition to the fans...NOT so you would notice..Have the Club recognised failure early enough..NO I don't think so. Have they acted promptly to arrest the developing situation..doubt any one of us could say they had. Not only is this inept on all fronts when measured against successful business acumen, it should not signal any semblance of a status quo. Not just about players not doing there thing, it's also about structures not fit for purpose.

I’ve seen very little from you other than criticism, nothing other than Ryan is young and inexperienced, Rupp needs to sell blah blah blah.
If you’re so clever, if you know business so well, why don’t you become an associate director, I am sure you can afford it and Stefan and Ryan will welcome such knowledge you can impart.
If you don’t want to do that, enlighten us all with a costed plan, based in reality, on how you would remove Stefan and get new owners in, get a better CEO than Ryan, how you would match what Luton have done.
Like many I’m no fan of Rhodes or Rupp, I think their leadership has been poor, but come on Fordy, you’re quick to criticise, what’s your plan? Let’s pick apart what you do with being constructive in anyway shape or form.Meltham Massive, Steve1970, Captain Grumpy and 2 others like this. -
He’s saying the right things and trying to put things in place to make us better longer term. You seem to have a problem because of his age. He seems the cheap option but first job ticked off he’s talking to the fans and open. Second one he was Brave to sack McCall after giving him a longer contract.
Let’s see who we appoint and what this new recruitment team looks likeInspector, Stafford Bantam, 1975citygent and 2 others like this. -
He’s going to take his time and interview the candidates and have something in place by the Grimsby game in 8 days time. (Something we all asked for rather than a repeat of McCall with Rhodes)
He will step back and let the manager manage and wants to ensure a correct back room team is in place ( something we all asked for)
He wants to give youth a go at the club
I mean yeah he’s young and he was cheap and was here for the summer but I’d lay the most of that blame with Rhodes for the lacklustre window and the appointment of McCall.
Let’s give him a chance before we micro analyse his every word on the radio - something we have all been crying out for, talking to fans!Biker, Morley Bantam, Stafford Bantam and 2 others like this. -

Ryan Sparks made a mistake with Stuart. But he's quickly learnt. And he's doing what many posters on here have demanded for ages. Hire someone who knows the lower leagues transfer market 'under the bonnet'? Lee Turnbull appointed. Tick. Offload BRE and Guthrie? Tick. Sign a couple of young players with genuine pace? Stevens and Burrell. Tick. Bring in a BRE replacement with real experience? Canavan. Tick. Back up keeper for Hornby. Will Huffer. Tick. If it wasn't for Atkinson's form at BPA, he would have had more games. Bower really rates him, as did Leeds. Still more to be done before Jan 31st. Experienced GOALSCORING striker and a real badass DM. Yes, let's judge Sparks further down the line. But for now he's ticking all the boxes that fans have asked for.
