Well said @EricMcManus , hope you are right with your optimism.

 

A question. Do we have a Financial Director or Chief Accountant.....or even an accountant? I had assumed, possibly wrongly, that Rhodes was also doing that role

 

Exactly with his announcement I would have expected at least a summary of why he is the right appointment and include something about how he hopes to take the club forward, future plans / strategy.
As usual - we as stakeholders are mushroom managed.

 

And where has that got us?! 20th in League Two with the worst squad we’ve possibly ever had.

That’s not a positive. Far from it. It’s far far worse that he’s already been overseeing this demise. Some were ready to accept the appointment to give him the chance but you’re telling us he’s already been running us into non-league and he’s given the gig permanently?!

Best of luck to the lad, same age as me and no doubt a dream job I won’t knock him for taking it. But I do knock the club for going down the route of someone with no experience in the role and I’d say probably not to many contacts in the game. We’ve sleep walked into oblivion these last 3 years, now was the time for an experienced campaigner with knowledge of turning failing businesses around. Hope he proves us doubters wrong and he can happily shove it down our throats, but I have massive doubts.

 

Very little experience and the experience he's had has seen the club go from bad to worse.

Fills me with very little confidence, stinks of a rat leaving a sinking ship and handing the reigns over to the cabin boy.

I'd be more than happy if there's still a football league club to support come next summer at this rate.

Who said I was happy. What I said was let us see how he does instead of a closed mind. I would prefer someone with ambition who probably sees himself in the future much higher than us. Than someone just wanting an extra pay day before retirement

The BIG question is has Rhodes left the club or still involved someway? He usually likes to meddle so will be surprised if he has gone completely
