I've worked with Ryan and can testify that he is an excellent operator.

He knows the ins and outs of running the club and has been pretty much operating as acting CEO for most of this year - He's done incredible work with new commercial tie-ins in the most challenging climate. Major sponsors added include Bradford College and Blinds Direct.

I've discussed with him his vision for the club and what's needed and I can only say it chimes with everything that the Bradford City fans on this board want.

People will question his youth - Remember Baldwin and Mason came here with zero experience. I back attitude, and he has it in buckets and he's already proven himself behind the scenes.

Time to get behind him, back the club and get through this season and look forward to happier times.

The problem I think going forward is thst a lot that don't renew this summer will be lost for years to come.

They will either get used to tuning in on the radio to listen or simply get used to doing other family things on a Saturday afternoon

At this stage, I wouldn't know how to judge him. I'll wait and see whether any semblance of a plan or strategy for the future of the club emerges from VP now he's in the hot seat.

It just appears to be another 'easy' appointment for the club to have made.

With his CV he wouldn't have got the gig anywhere else but that's not how Bradford City operates.

And fair play also to @Fordy117@Fordy117 and @Rcbantam@Rcbantam

They get their fair share of flak for conveying "negativity" (admittedly I have give RC some shit lately) but they both called it spot on

A lot of this could have been avoided if the club had come out and been honest with fans. But this ain't an overnight thing, this is a culmination of 6 years of cracks being papered over and now the supply of paper has run out. Forget people at the back of the ground waving placards or planes flying banners, the drop in season ticket sales is the true protest to the failings of the ownership of this club.
Once a business loses the confidence of its customer base it usually fails and has to come back under new ownership with a different name. The only move the club has made is to put the price up to compensate for the loss of customers, getting the ones who still use the company to pay for their mistakes.
Sounds like a right plan that.

    It still is mine!

Coach my sons team sat morning, then meet my 2 brothers and nephews, go to oddfellows for a bit of lunch and a pint then to the game !
I wouldn't change it for the world and I'll continue doing it for aslong as my kids and family come along!

This is the thread created when Sparks was promoted to CEO. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but there are some interesting comments from people if you can be bothered reading through it

I wonder what @EricMcManus@EricMcManus and @Bigrod@Bigrod think about him now?

Oh and no surprise at all, club stalwart and resident happy clapper @Park bantam@Park bantam was fully behind the appointment...in other news, water is wet :laughing:

Everything is fine and rosy in la la land in their heads.

If he replaces the CEO and promises to introduce some structure at the club, Stefan can save the ST campaign. If he stubbornly refuses to admit this club is in crisis, then he can watch it all blow up. He deserves to lose every penny of his investment.

If he put out a statement today acknowledging the mess we are in and advising what he is going to do about, including replacing Sparks, he could kill the planned protest for Friday dead before it even begins and avoid all the negative media attention it will attract.
    He won't though.

I will not be renewing, for the 2nd successive season. The downward spiral was evident before we even kicked a ball this season and based on current circumstances next season will be even worse. So until there is change at the top, or there is a complete change in attitude and direction from those at the top, then I will be staying away from VP. Don't get me wrong, it hurts like hell at the moment but I am not spending my hard earned money to support disinterested and clueless management. When it comes to GA, I am on the fence, but think he has to be given a chance to mould his own team/squad. Yet another manager change would achieve nothing at all right now

Does anyone know the whereabouts of Sparks this week? Simon Parker clearly hasn't bothered asking to speak to him. The manager is getting questions about the running of the club which isn't his remit at all, and what's he going to say in that position anyhow, yes my boss is clueless?

Is Sparks turning up to Valley Parade at the moment? Is his car there? Or has he been summoned abroad to Germany to speak with the man himself.

The head in the sand hope this all goes away approach will just cause more rage than there is now, and even if we beat Tranmere tomorrow it's to far gone to make any difference.

Before people vote, I suggest they research what a CEO’s role in a company actually is as I suspect a lot of people don’t know.

All I will say is good luck to him. If no one else is brought in then this is a very very tough job as your first. If he proves himself then he can go higher no doubt. But a hell of a lot of work to do. Massive challenge and cannot blame him for taking it

I remember a certain Shaun Harvey coming from a humble administrative job at Farsley Celtic to the top job at the EFL and he was not much older than Ryan, all the best fella.

To me it feels like getting back with an EX that keeps cheating on you

You keep going back after all the promises but she does it again and again

After so long its time to call it a day and find a new bird

I can't believe it has taken this long for people to finally see Sparks for what he is. Unbelievable

So, is Ryan still bunkered up in the boardroom with the phone disconnected? I mean he's been completely invisible as if he can just lay low expecting this to blow over if one or two freak results.

He must know he is out of his depth but he must also realise he isn't going to get another job like this in the future and so the catch 22 situation begins. He won't resign and Rupp won't sack him. Meanwhile due to his ego the whole place crumbles around him.
