I still think the old Richard Dunne centre is the ideal location. Easy for the motorway (for those players living outside the district), lots of land, existing road/car park. Combine it with the University, perhaps other sporting clubs hiring part of it and use for youth sporting development in the community. So the Council could let City have the land on a 999 year lease, at £1 a year rent. Job is a good one!;)

So now were not discussing the facilities, yet you quote this to make a point "Can I ask also, have you ever been inside the Woodhouse Grove complex?? Like in the building??", if it is not relevant why quote it, Stefan will not be putting the type of money into Bradford City that commands the building of new training facilities, in fact I'd suggest owning our own ground would be a far better option but in the short term that wont happen either.
What would make us a more enticing proposition would be top near the of league one as we were when he bought the club.

Another sound bites ridden update from Sparks.

‘There is genuine ambition inside the four walls of Valley Parade and it is my responsibility to ensure we as a club deliver.’

Ambition to do what exactly and how is this ambition different or more achievable than any other season?

Nothing wrong with the training pitches, it has the stigma ‘oh but it’s school training fields’ ….grass is flipping grass and it’s had huge investment by us and Woodhouse on drainage , treatment etc.

The mismatch between social care and NHS areas is a nightmare. I used to work as an Approved Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), doing assessments under the 1983 Mental Health Act for compulsory admission to hospital (aka 'sectioning' people).
AMHP services are the legal responsibility of the local authority, which does not control the keys to NHS hospital beds. There were endless boundary disputes about which LA was responsible for doing MHA Assessments, which hospitals they should go to etc. Eg, the designated MH hospital for Burnley and Colne is Airedale - which is in Bradford Met - but the legal responsibility for doing the assessments is with East Lancs Social Services.
When it gets really complicated is where someone is registered to a GP practice that is in a different area. Say a person lives in Thornbury but their GP is in Pudsey. The NHS protocols would say they should go to a Leeds hospital, but the MHA says it's the legal responsibility of the Bradford AMHP team to do the assessment, based on their home address. Often the AMHP would then be stuck in the middle of a dispute between Leeds and Bradford NHS about which hospital should take the patient - Leeds or Bradford. Same sorts of disputes occur regarding residential care.
It would be so much simpler if the NHS and LA boundaries were co-terminus.

Aye, cos we’re all sat at home on £1500 plus £40 a month exercise bikes whilst we’re meant to be working. Proper set of bell ends in this government.

Derek is very eloquent when given free rein. However, he does get rattled when he doesn't like the line of questioning. All in stark contrast to Gary Bowyer who was so laid back when put on the spot.

Listen to the interview, read the statement again, pause, absorb and you might get it. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if you didn't....

Next question Fordy, and I'm genuinely interested to know. You generally have such vitriol towards the club - why do you continue to support us?

I don’t always agree with Fordy, but all organisations need holding to account and I think Fordy does that to some extent.
Being critical of something doesn’t mean you don’t want to see it succeed

Being vitriol or passive, entitles you to support your club.

I don't think their is a right or wrong way, to being a supporter.

    Strikes me that it is:
    • Pleased with the start of the season up to Mansfield
    • Unhappy with the next five league games (don’t forget the cup games)
    • We could/should be doing better
    • The season is over 46 games
    • Come 4.55 on Saturday we will start to turn the corner
    • Things are not problematic within the club
Where we are at the beginning of November will be the acid test.

I have and the point that I was wanting to make was no matter how much you might want it to feel like our own training ground/facilities, the whole place still screams at you, Woodhouse Grove School.
Pictures of all the kids sports teams, Achievement boards, the school emblem everywhere, the kids doing outdoor sports when your walking to the training pitches, everyone wearing I'm a grovian t-shirts or employees of the school wearing the schools emblem on their workwear. Even the schools moto and principles are written everywhere.
As for our main training pitches, when the team aren't on them, people walk their dogs, let them piss and shit all over the surface, large groups play football on the pitch we use nearest the Stansfield pub, even though its clearly marked BCAFC training pitch.
Back to the school though, Its a fantastic place to learn and be part of an education many of us can only dream of but i'm telling you now, it doesn't feel like Bradford City AFC's training base.

The results of the school have absolutely no correlation to to the facilities offered. None at all. State of the art sports facilities will not help you pass gcse maths.
