Just read a few threads and you'll see the negative comments are posted by very few fans they just like to bellyache, I'm sure you have a few.
A few of the negative comments are based entirely on the one game at your place when he was subbed at half time.

PS once again another 14,000 + have backed the manager, if he's half as good as the lad O'Brien another loan we got from our neighbours I'll be more than happy.

Now if you ask me about Stubbs? This guy is captain material all day long and the best signing we've made in January since Charlie Wyke. Hardly ever puts a foot wrong and never shuts up. One of the main reasons we're in with a great shout of the autos.

I’d like to think that Crichlow is aware that the vast majority of City supporters find the abuse reprehensible. The lad made a mistake (imagine that, a lower league defender making a mistake) and comes back to score the winner. That’s how to put these idiots back in the rock they emerged from. And also to Lewis, (not the same level of abuse after his mistake last week) but another arguably match winning performance as well. Well done to the pair of them. Jose would be proud of them, I know I am.

I prefer man to man marking at set pieces that way you have the responcabilty for your player should he score, rather than now where everyone stands with their hands on their hips looking around.

In fairness - he was a cameo player. Couldn't get a sniff at times because of Cook - that said didnt really take his chance when Cook was out of the side either. He wouldn't be the first to be a victim of our tactics and completely ruin a half capable striker though.

Im prepared to give him another chance if he doesnt move on.

Along with myself, I'm sure the majority weren't influenced by anything Sparks has or not said this pre-season.

Honestly what difference does 50 games played in league two make when you have had two years of Premier league coaching under your belt.

What's better ? 87 games at league two level coached by someone who has done nothing, won nothing and got zero experience outside the khazi league or 2/3 years under a championship/ pl coach ?

    I trust Mark Hughes. Simples

I have no idea how good this young defender is. I won’t know until I actually see him play a few games. I trust our new management and coaching teams to bring in the best players they can given the style of football MH wants to play. The vast majority on here also have not seen him play. They are new players to us as City fans, so I can’t see how they can be deemed not good enough when they haven’t kicked a ball yet.

Firstly I will wait until we have assembled the whole squad but even then I still won’t know how they will perform until MH gets to work on them.

You can imagine the meltdown on these boards, if we'd done what Port Vale did this time last year and took a chance on the underachieving James Wilson - who Salford were more than happy to get rid of

That signing turn out OK for them - as we found out when he gave Paudie the runaround in March.

Clearly having a good manager worked for him.

And that's the key thing in L2 - it's about the manager identifying potential and getting the most out of it, as opposed to spending all the budget on known quality, which often results in them not delivering.

So why can’t they just say he’s injured then?

Jonny Williams might have scored 10 last year, but he's only scored 11 in his previous 270 games.

I don't blame him for waiting to see what offers come in but we know what he offered us in League Two not sure he would be the same in League One, but early days don't burn your bridges son.

Nope Stubbs and Platt looked more solid to me. I’m not worried about the defence, our shortfalls last season were the form of our wide players like Chapman although he did pick up before his injury, and the fact Gilly and Smallwood dont offer anything going forward. Improve that and we go up.

He probably should not have started that game as he was not fully fit after an injury sustained earlier. Unfair to write his City career off gauging this one particular performances. But like RCBantam, you revel in being Mr/Mrs negative
