We definitely need pace on the left and right and cover at left sided centre half

 

I'd say we will only get cover in at left centre back if we can get players out either BRE or maybe tyler French on loan to non league club. Especially if we keep trueman and sellars they have great faith in cousin-dawson if needed at centre back or right back as shown. If there is money in budget then yeah another centre back maybe on loan as reece staunton would be a good centre back choice when back fit

 

Are we allowed to use any surplus saved from this year in to next seasons budget?

Falkingham bossed that game - Not sure he would now though under this set up. That said he would be a good signing.

 

Competition for places is what we need in centre of pitch cos if sutton gets injured or suspended again we have no like for like replacement in this system watt and cooke next to each other wont work

The worry if Sutton gets injured is not only that he is the one sticking his foot in (more carefully nowadays) but over the last few matches he has also been our most creative player, not only going past opponents but also playing defence splitting passes

 

So whats everyone's thoughts on what we need to gate crash the play offs? With the budget remaining and if we can offload BRE, Guthrie and send Samuel's back im thinking..a proven goal scorer like novak, a decent defensive midfielder, an out and out winger, plus with trumans knowalge of youth teams and academys, a young and up and comming defender, winger and striker for the squad, whats your thoughts?

Groundhog day with our fan base, remember the same comments the season we got relegated under Hopkin in December and we were playing far better than this tbh. Let’s just improve the squad to secure our league status then look to next season to try for promotion.

It’d be nice but I’m still not convinced teams like us and Southend could easily revert to type, we’ve been down there for a reason. But maybe I’m just over negative due to the crap we’ve had these last few years.

To answer your question I’ll go with what Fergie said about Liverpool when he was still United manager. They are only 2 good players... in every position from challenging for the title. Or in our case the playoffs.

 

And I never said we will gate crash the playoffs I just wondered what people thought we need, as I say I think where 3 first team players short and 3 or maybe 4 young squad players short

We need the following:

-A Manager
-An Assistant Manager
-A youth development set up.
-A playing identity from the manager.
-The playing identity then needs to be followed by all youth set ups.
-We then need to look at our squad.
-Maybe, hire a DOF
-Have a recruitment set up.
-Identify which players can play in the playing style the manager wants.
-Then we need to look at the players we feel we can improve upon.
-We then need to try to get rid of some people either on loan or for good.
-We then need to start contacting DOF/managers of clubs in the PL/Championship/Div 1 to highlight what our identity is --going forward and why Bradford City would be a good place for their players.
-Then off the pitch we need to stop acting like a set of losers. Highlight some ambition and direction not act like a pub team that's going nowhere.
-Look at season ticket pricing.
- Hopefully, be able to get fans back in.
- Think about more stadium improves.

- The list could go on and on!

Playing wise I can't answer until we get a manager and a plan to move forward. Forget this season. This season now is about staying up and building.

Thats a cracking reply and a decent read and I agree with all of it, apart from forgetting this season, I would add we really need to work something out to buy our ground back and make us a much more sustainable club
