In view of the upturn in fortunes under the caretaker managers, where do you think we need to recruit as a priority in Jan now?

For me, right wing is the priority. CB less so now the O’Connors have raised their game.

Depending on how long Hosannah is our for, maybe a RB too.

If being greedy, striker to shake things up, but appreciate Guthrie, Donaldson and Samuels are all waiting in the wings already if we persist with a 4-2-3-1 set up.

Nothing changes. This group of players have been shit for the most part of this season, let's not forget that. The same number and quality of players are still required.

Send hoshannah and Samuels back. Neither have been that good. Always injured for the first and second not ready.
Rather develop our own (Cousin-Dawson) than Leeds youngster

Edit - we need 5 or 6 for me. We need to be close to building a squad close to pushing the top end of the league. Central midfield wingers and strikers are a priority for me

Nothing changes for me - the usual suspects can revert to type as we have seen over the last three seasons and let the team/club down. These need replacing asap besides recruiting decent players for positions we have no one.

We still desperately need leaders. A few shaky results again and I have no faith whatsoever that the same players won't again go missing until we fluke another win or two.

Two wingers one for either side, a striker and a CM leader ideally. All who will walk into the first 11, that will see us safe then for a full rebuild in the summer.

Jan is never a good time to sign players so as few as is needed to ensure survival with the new season been the time to refresh the squad, The present management duo have bought us precious time we should use it wisely, Perhaps a winger would help but very few good players are available in this window

Resolve manager and coaching staff roles (without damaging the academy), resolve future of BRE, CW, Hosannah, Guthrie and Samuel's. Bring strong replacements in for any who leave but especially a centre half, two pacey wingers, 1 decent centre midfield and possible another good striker.

Jesus wept. The number of people who seem to think that everything is rosey or at least not as bad as it was because of three games is frightening and it’s epitomised by this thread AND the number of people saying that we should give Trueman and Sellars the job.

CB is a massive priority. Lose one of the O’Connors and there’s BRE and French as back up until Staunton is back.
Send Samuels back, tell Guthrie to feck off, another two strikers in and a hard bastard midfielder who will lead from the front.

A lot will depend upon who is managing us of course. But the January window will not give us much scope for change in numbers or level of quality for various reasons, and conservative, well managed consolidation on what we have is the only realistic option for the rest of this season. Not being happy clappy, nor pessimistic, but realistic in the short-term. The interim managers have seen and acted on this and thankfully we are not now staring the abyss in the face (for the time being), and if dealt with sensibly we might be looking at reasonable league position but I fear too much tinkering and a return to blue sky thinking in the dressing room, and spreading widely and thinly in the transfer window will upskittle and send us back.

On the basis of the last three games, send a couple out to non-league and with the saved and the existing money in the pot bring in a couple of handy big lads at the front, in the window or free market. I say keep Bryce.

True. But it might be tricky to find a decent CB that is gonna be happy to sit on the bench behind the O’Connors. If the new manager prefers three CB’s then fair enough, we need one until Staunton is fit. A loan might be an option

Too many people getting blind sided by 7 points in 9 games. However good these two have been over 3 games, let's not forget a good pinch of ir is the change factor.

We need exactly what we needed before a week last Friday and we need a manager to come in with experience of poor runs in meaningful games.

I think CM is priority, any injuries to Cooke, Watt or Sutton and we are really struggling. There are going to be injuries and suspensions and we need someone off the bench. We especially need someone who can come in with the energy levels and tough tackling that Sutton has brought in the last few games.

Wingers x2. Particularly right sided but we also lack options on the left. I'd go for one wide midfielder like a right sided Pritchard as I think it will suit the formation well and also 1 out-and-out pacey winger to give us options.

Striker - Novak is the only person who can score and he needs support. If we are going to refer just playing 1 striker they are going to have to play second fiddle to Novak in all likelihood. I'd keep Donaldson to the end of the season to help close out games when needed but Guthrie can go. Samuels can stay but he's probably not going to get much gametime.

GK - happy with it as is.

LB - our most solid position, any chance of re-signing Wood? If not do we try and sell while he is under contract?

CB - I know others aren't, but I'm happy with it as is. The O'Connors is a solid starting partnership. I know everyone hates BRE and he does deserve dropping, but I do think he is far better suited to a back 4 and this time last year he was touted as the best CB in the league. Between him / Staunton / French as backup I don't see it as a priority as long as we keep a back 4.

RB - How long is Hosannah out? I think he's done well but I'm not sure if he will suit the new style. Don't see Cousin-Dawson as a regular starter just yet so for me this is a maybe.

That's 4/5 to come in, 1/2 to maybe leave. We have the money supposedly, just need to target and attract the right players now.

I would definitely keep hosannah think he has done well in a poor team

A loan player who’s always injured. Seems pointless

Not sure he is injured at the moment. Leeds have said he won’t be allowed to return until we have a manager in place

if that is true we should terminate the deal. We can not have them just stopping him play whenever they feel like it
