I usually go to Wetherspoons for a large breakfast rather than there. I know Wetherspoons isn’t great quality but you can get a big full breakfast for a reasonable price. You can have refillable warm drinks in Wetherspoons too. That being said, I should make more of an effort to support smaller, independent businesses.

I’ll have to give Rossi’s a try at some point and update this thread with my findings. I haven’t been in there in years.

I might even do a gradual tour of Keighley’s cafes over the summer before I go back to university.

I also went in there the other day, but I stayed in there with a 1/2 pound Spicy Chicken Fillet burger. This is a very bad habit of mine. I think that might have also gone up 50p now that you’ve mentioned it.

A girl I used to work with years ago once told me that she saw a staff member in Keighley Raja’s pick up someone’s left over food from a table and then put the uneaten chips back in the pan to be warmed up for the next person who wanted to buy chips from there. Personally, I have never had any issues with the place though and years have passed since then.

Sunday dinner at the Brown Cow, Bingley - very bog standard given some good Trip Advisor reviews, wouldn’t recommend.

We were contemplating this place. Will swerve.

A good Sunday lunch that doesn't necessitate driving in Bradford is hard to find.

Really? We've had some fantastic meals at the Brown Cow.

It does seem that a decent Sunday lunch is hard to get without having a drive out somewhere.

Hash Brown's essential on a breakfast.

Friday night is pizza night at Emily's in Thornton. About £5.50 per 'pie'. Good gear.

    Worth Valley Steam and Spice.

What a load of cack. Started off badly when I was enjoying myself so much in Fanny's that I missed my steam train connection from Keighley and had to get taxi from there to Oxenhope to meet up with some pals. So I am already £35 in......

Train sets off, everybody wants beer, but there are only 2 bars...............for 100's of passengers so you either had to queue forever to get beer and miss the trip or sit and view and have no beer.......I queued. 2 beers on offer, 1 @ 4% and 1 @ 4.1% WTF?

Curry was provided at Keighley station by "Khans" which is nearby, my veg one was garbage, gloop, the others had chicken but preferred mine.................. the band at the station were ace, "Night Patrol" who provoked some serious dad dancing. We got the 22:41 back to Shipley and went to Spoons to try out my new chav phone app, it was dead. Should have gone to Leeds.

The app’s pretty nifty though, eh? Used it last time I was in a packed Spoons. No queuing, and your drinks arrive twice as fast.

We did the train thing (minus the scran) a few weeks ago. It was ace - the train bar was empty on each of our frequent visits.

The food 'events' look a bit rubbish though.

Ate at the Moorcock Inn just outside Sowerby Bridge on Sat'day.

Bus to Halifax then to SB - only cost a fiver for a day's travel for 2. Taxi'd to the pub/restaurant though - it's a right hike.

Bizarre but brilliant to see the place rammed with daytrippers (like us) from around the country. Our waiter said they originally hoped for 10 people per service but have been overwhelmed by the take-up. Prob helps that some of the national critics have loved it.

Understandably so. Distinctive and (relatively) generous stuff going on here.

I suppose the food's got a touch of the Scandi style about it - lots of foraged herbs - dead 'interesting' if you fancy summat different. Just about survived without chips.

Bread/Snacks/Soup/Oyster/Fish/Duck/Ice cream for 35 quid each.

After 1 bottle of wine we asked for a recommendation for a 2nd and the restaurant manager (chef's wife I think) gave us both some healthy swigs 'to try'. The one we eventually chose was a quid cheaper than what we'd got originally. No aggressive up-sellling.

Massive smoking ovens outside means we stank like bonfires by the end but it was ace.

From there to the Travellers Rest in Hipperholme.

I'm going to nip up to my local 'Sizzler', later. About 6.00 PM is always a good time, outside of weekends.
I'll be having my 'usual' mixed grilled (with an egg top-up) along with a pint. Not bad when I hand over a tenner, and still get change. When in Shipley, I use the Wrose Bull - but down here I'm spoiled ....... 6 Sizzlers within a 3 mile radius - GREAT. :) Good food and rarely scores less than 8/10 from me ! ;)
