White pudding, had it Ireland a couple of times, it’s probably better than black pudding.

Hash browns, pointless American muck.

 

I take it You don't eat ..........Chips or Roast, Saute or Croquette potatoes ? (LIAR !! )

Because essentially, Hash Browns are only shaped shredded and fried potato pieces.
Yes, they can be bland at times, but if served as part of a main dish (Say mixed grill), I prepare my own, adding finely chopped onions and grated red Leicester (for colour and flavour) cheese.

But served with a FULL English breakfast - how can they be either bland OR muck ?
Unless you have 'em with your toast and marmalade, like ?

 

Choose one of three great tastes for great Roast Potatoes

In all cases, par boil (5 minutes) the potatoes.
(TIP .... If the potato pieces are larger than a soup spoon - they are too big !)
Drain and add one of the following, shaking vigorously for 5/6 seconds prior to placing in a pre heated tray;

a) Add one teaspoon of Marmite
b) Add a half teaspoon of chopped Basil
c) Add a half teaspoon of 'swartz' chip seasoning

Remember to 'turn' the Roasts at least once during cooking.
3 great flavours, according to taste.

TIP ...... If you have a grill section above your oven, Remove the Joint of meat 20 minutes early, drain off excess juices and place in the grill compartment to 'finish'. Now roast those potatoes !
This may be helpful if you are pushed for either time or money.

 

First visit to Aldo's at Greengates last Saturday.
Very impressed with the food, dare I say, even better than Ital.
Atmosphere and layout of the place was better than I was expecting.
Aldo seemed a bit more reserved than he used to be at Ital, acknowledging us and remembering us, but not over imposing himself.
Definitely going to be my number 1 Italian in the area.

The last Italian I visited was The Amalfi at Yeadon, very poor, and had to send 2 dishes back being undercooked and cold

 

Without going back over the thread I'm certain the Moorcock at Sowerby Bridge was mentioned and praised. This is where he gets some of his meat from, the mention on here meant it caught the eye.

I occasionally have the Eggs Benedict at Guiseley Morrisons. Very nice.

Hash browns are Beelzebub's handiwork. Appalling American nonsense. No place whatsoever on a full English. I invariably ask for more of something else instead. Preferably fried bread, which I love.

 

No hash browns but more fried bread.

This is controversial stuff so close to bedtime.

It's a tradition in our house to make the breakfast bubble on Boxing Day with the leftover sprouts, roasties and parsnips from Christmas dinner. Lovely.
