If it's a traditional Sunday roast you're after then don't be a snob and dismiss the Toby. Absolutely nothing wrong with the food they do.

Well that was a scarily fast turnabout! How can footfall be higher where they are moving to, is it restricted hours or something? I was on North Parade 12-1:30 on Tuesday, I think 2 bars were open and there were 4 of us in The Sparrow.

Not suprised. It's a huge shame as it has so much potential but is in the wrong hands. It hasn't been handled correctly from the start and it has nothing to attract people in for a wander round unless you want a drink or need some trousers altering. Massive shame.

    That's the life.

Wonder if the council would take ithe whole place off his hands & make it into a museum or summat.

Not for what he has invested in it

Would be ideal to make into small shops with a Victorian theme

People dressed in period clothing selling anything over a pound lol

But everybody says the same thing, it'd be busy every day from noon if it was in Leeds. And what happened to all those who said "At last, we have somewhere nice to go in Bratfud"?

It all comes back to the footfall and the spending potential of it.

    Well that is scary!

If if was in Shipley, not even Saltaire, you'd have enough walk ups to make a go of it but the centre appears to be a no-no for those with disposable income

Apart from booze or food there's nothing in there to spend your money on!! That's the problem.

The new plant shop looks decent. I wish them well but they're going to have to flog a lot of plants, I'm guessing.

Shame because the bloke has tried to make something happen in Bradford. A very interesting development but in completely the wrong city, i'm not sure why anyone would try something like he did in a dying city centre.

I find it bemusing why people don't get it. Bradford is a dump that attracts people with little disposable income and virtually no one from out of town with money then they wonder why a development like the Sunbridge Wells isn't a success. The Sunbridge Wells development isn't a reason to visit Bradford, its use would be to service people attracted to come into the city centre via things like the Odeon if it ever gets built or the refurbished St Georges hall because apart from that there is no reason to venture into the city centre.
Its the complete antithesis of Leeds and if the development had been done there it would have been a success.

Yep, the time had gone...l was so wishing that it would succeed, if that place can't then the debate about centre regeneration is closed. Look at today's T&A "Burger joint may open soon", " Kebab joint coming", it's comical.

I posted earlier on my way to Leeds to meet up with some pals (Bradfordians) parties were out by 3, by 7 it was rocking and hard to get served. 10 miles, but a million really.

Ate at Mamma Mia on Satday for the first time in a year. Nicely busy & most tables occupied. Carbonara was top notch.

A return visit to the Box Tree for lunch today. Will douse myself in the free aftershave to ensure I get my money's worth.
