I've been both Friday and Sat nights and its always been between reasonably busy and packed. I think between Sunday and Thursday it's dead, apart from straglers after work.

    More Sunbridge chat.

I've just read that the tapas place is closing after this weekend. The statement adds that there will be a restructure and that it'll reopen under new ownership.

Never been so can't comment on the scran.

That's a massive shame. Been a few times and the food has always been very good.

Hopefully it can stay as good if/when it re-opens.
The lack of anything else but bars will kill the wells unfortunately.

Yes it was good, lighting harsh, but good food and ambience. Nothing else like it in Bradford where you could make an effort, dress up and go out, without feeling like a weirdo.

The scheme was originally billed as a retail/leisure/drink destination with younger people taking on units on short/good terms. That never even got started. That's down to the general lack of footfall, but the footfall prepared to spend good money for a drink in a "good" place, well that's practically non-existent.

Somebody mentioned the Sports bar was v.busy for the Liverpool/Spurs game. But that's not a good thing IMO, the down market bar in the place is the successful one? I saw your other post, so you've been a few times, I've been a few times but Bradfordians in general, haven't, it's a crying shame.

Was it really? I had a bad feeling about it, as I do when I see a gaff doing "tapas" anywhere. Was never tempted.

"Good" for Bradford, would not bother Viva Cuba never mind Iberica, but it's gone and with it, and The Alibi, is all reason for me and Mrs Abbo to go to Bradford, which is a relief tbh. I've had shit "tapas" at Pintura, Dos Amigos, Viva Cuba, last decent ones were at Ambiente which has very mixed reviews, know what you mean. I'll be in Elche Sunday for some proper do ones!

Went back to the Moorcock at Norland last night. Arrived proper early & they gave us a pork pie to have with drinks. Belting.

All good again, apart from dessert which was a bit bonkers. "Toffee apple" with cheese and sorrel.

Full house. Going to flatten the bar menu next time.

Yes it wasn't a touch on Iberica but it was like abbomf said Good. It's just a massive shame that more people 'Bradfordians' didn't go and give it a chance, yet some of these people will be saying there's know where to go, no decent places to eat, Bradford's sh*t yet they don't go.

My mate lives abroad now but is over here for a week or 2, he went to the match on Sat and then to the Wells as he's heard loads about it. He must have gone in through the new bar on Ivegate and like most got lost straight away, mentioned the lack of signage and how the whole place didn't really have an identity. Left really disappointed.

I'm guilty of not giving it a go, and fair play to them if it was decent. There's certainly a lack of good options.

That said, the menu looked confused with all the bollocks about matching beers to food, and I just wasn't convinced they knew what they were doing.

I think strong/smart websites & social media presence are pretty vital nowadays, especially for somewhere that has to work harder in drswing folk in.

Aye just read that. A massive space for a bar. Interesting.

"Unfortunately Ginga Rodizio Bar and Grill will no longer be opening in Bradford at this time, the site has been sold to the popular chain BrewDog.
We are presently looking for alternative venues in the city, we will be in contact soon.
    From the Ginga Team!"

That used to be a great pub, I moved away a couple of years ago and haven't been back since it was done up but I saw Jay Raynor give it a fabulous review a few weeks ago and I'm definitely looking for an excuse to go back. Only problem is that I need a driver because it's either an early night for the last train out of Soweby Bridge or shelling out £££££ for a taxi back to Leeds.

Has anyone tried that new Syrian place that has opened up on Manningham Lane near the top of Clifton St (for those walking out of town on Mannigham Lane after tha match)?

They had a tasting table on the pavement after the Charlton game but weren't quite ready to hand out freebies as I walked past. I've never tried Syrian food and I've got to say I'm intrigued, it looked a bit Turkish/Greek kebaby type stuff which seems ideal for a post match meal.

Get booked in for lunch. It's a tad leftfield food-wise...

Yes, I really don't understand why anyone wouldn't have an upto date social media pages - it's free, ok it takes time but your promoting your restaurant. No excuse really not to have a Facebook/Intagram etc

Neon Cactus, Leeds. Simple mexican food done really well very reasonably priced too. Bar/restaurant down call lane, good selection of drinks (not so many ale/ipa which was a bit disappointing) but the food is always excellent. Was going to have the sharing platter but couldn't face it so just had chicken tinga nacho's, beef burrito and taco's between 2 of us. Great food again. Bill with 3 drinks each was around £50.
