Sunbridge is dead Sunday right through to Fri night, on an afternoon you'll find more staff than customers, often. The bars don't open about half the available hours, the shops are shut/vacant and the kiosks closed. Like the art Deco bar, it has closed for good for blindingly obvious reasons

I'll ask again, what "mid/high" end market are they going to cater for? Describe what you are describing..........

Pocos Kirskall Road, Sicilian street food.

    https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186411-d13388431-Reviews-Poco_Sicilian_Street_Food-Leeds_West_Yorkshire_England.html

Gettng a bit jazzed off with "street food", there is a Polish one 3 doors down and a Jamaican one opposite. Pocos is done out really well, it feels bright and airy despite being a pokey shop. Was only in 10 minutes, the veg aracini was sold out, so we had a rectangular slice each of pizza which was basically margherita topped with white aspargus. It was near closing time and the choice is a lot better earlier.

The volume of the pizza was similar to Greggs pasty, those + 2 cappucinos came to about £12, which I thought was bleedin expensive, even in up and coming Kirkstall. Wsa ookkkkaaaay, will try it one more time.

Why don't you ask them? I'm not the one who is doing it! I'll say it again (no idea why it's proving so difficult for you to understand) I just related what I was told. If you want to turn it into a rant about what a stupid decision it is then feel free, if it makes you feel better.

I am not ranting, I just asked for clarification of your "mid/high" end market comment, you don't have an opinon on what you "were told"?

Why should I? You're asking me to make a prediction on the outcome of someones business decision. Why not wait and see? You obviously think they are foolish. You might be right but I fail to see what that achieves?

Never asked you anything of the sort, you've made that up.

You “were told” something and thought it interesting enough to post it on a forum, but don’t have an opinion on it? Yeah, right. Here’s mine, Bradford ceased to have a city centre mid/high end market sometime in the late 1980’s. That doesn’t mean there are not people frequenting the centre that could fit to that description, there certainly are, but in nowhere near enough the required number to constitute a “market”, to sell anything to.

I saw your post and though “OMG it’s you”, your all too quick “sky is pink” nonsense reply to King Karl made me sure, and when I pressed your button and you went Mr Angry I was certain. You were told nothing by any owners, you made it up, you didn’t go to The Alibi and find it packed “not long ago” either, you made that up too. You are a fully fledged donut and should seek professional help instead of spending so much time on various platforms under multiple identities/usernames posting made up guff about Bradford City centre. You’d be happier.

I don’t know why you use these multiple identities, apart from to validate your own guff, you are so obvious..........for sure......

But, I’ll tell you what, you made my day, I just added you to my ignore list and I laughed out loud when I realised that in the entire world, there are 5 people I “ignore” and you are THREE of them!:brig::brig::brig:

Just another completely bizarre rant that's full of paranoid bleatings. Quite how you come to the conclusion that I never went to Alibis is of course without any foundation whatsoever. For your information I've been to Alibis on many occasions, mostly to drink (they even had Alibis lager!) but had food on 3 occasions. Their smorgasbord was very good and not too expensive.
As for the multiple identities. Again nope, just your paranoia.
As for not being told anything by the owners of Bar 39? You are completely wrong again but I guess we'll find out soon enough when they start serving food. Quite what I'm supposed to gain by fabricating these stories eludes me.
Anyway the chap who has opened Bar 39 is a builder. He's done most of the work on the place, not the investors of the tunnels. You should go in and meet him one day. He might even show you the kitchen that's going in. Nice chap. Why on earth would I have an opinion on his intention to serve food? I'd rather wish him well and hope it works out, as any sane minded person should!
Oh and here's a couple more of my 'fabrications' that I eluded to on this very thread (easy to check):

Oh dear Abbomf you've been outed, to borrow a term!

Again....vegan/veggie heaven and packed out, probably because it's so cool at the moment, interior ok, stripped back blah and Bradford Brewery OSB showing far too much for my liking. All the guys were painfully "right on", tight t-shirts, beards, desert boots............not the place you'd be welcome with a Daily Mail tucked under your arm.

I had the plant based (Dutch sourced) burger and found it disconcerting, I don't eat meat and have no desire to, but this tasted just like meat to me and was making me gip, couldn't eat it, it was a million miles away from normal veggie burgers I've ever eaten, astonishing really. This "meat" is going to be a v.e.r.y big thing very soon.

I'll go back here for a gig/event, it was great for people watching and getting over the "right on" vibe was pretty easy as everybody was so friendly and determined to have a good time, great atmosphere.

I was in the Llandudno one a few months back, pretty well done out to be fair keeping most of the original theatre intact. The carpet was quite bleak in there thinking back. Was on North Parade this afternoon, needed to go to the bank. How the hell did that street win awards? Its dead as a dodo. The two eastern european shops on the end just about sum that street up.

That's a good thing about Spoons, they bring long closed premises back into life, the one I went into last week in Lincoln was an old cinema. The one in Beverley is like a posh hotel.

That's the only reason I go nowadays, the bank, but when there I always have a good walk around and it's always dead, the bars are either closed or don't have enough custom for a single bar. Independent Quarter! :brig: Is Bradford the only place where a big Spoons (Titus Salt) has closed?

Went to Il Buco in Otley on Saturday. Ham and cheese board for starters, breaded chicken for main, really enjoyable in a nice family restaurant atmosphere. Very reasonably priced too!

Only ever been in twice, both on a Saturday when City were at home, between 9-10pm dead both times. Dread to think what it's like when City are away or any other day of the week.

Heard good things and the TA reviews look good too.................but no seafood pizza in the mains, or a seafood salad in the starters so that I can ask for a pizza to be made up. :(

I was in the Spoons in Lincoln earlier this summer, decent place. I do really like Lincoln overall actually, a favourite place of ours to visit for a couple of days each summer

I went in Feb for 3 days and didn't like it all, was totally dead, a ghost town at 8pm, like Bradford at 6pm. But it was in the below zero weather, went last week when it was sunny and it was totally different, busy streets, bars packed, I had few outside the Magna Carta pub with the Cathedral next door and had a great time.

Split City though, money up top of the steep hill, Poundstretcher/kebab land south of the railway line.

Yes like the Magna Carta, good place to sit outside in the warm weather too.

Know what you mean about below the railway crossing. But the Castle area, Steep Hill area, and the Brayford Waterfront are lovely places in the right weather. We stay in a lovely little boutique hotel halfway up Steel Hill called The Rest
