Pre-Season Friendlies 23/24

I have done and it has zero relevance to the question I asked. I can only presume you don't have an answer.

 

Ok mastermind.

 

Don't think the bench is terrible at all tbh. Osadebe and Derbyshire are the attacking options, although it could be better. Don't forget, we have Smith, Chapman and McDonald missing and there is a few weeks left of the transfer market.

Osadebe is an unknown at this point and Derbyshire is not good enough imo. Our defensive options are fine but there's not enough attacking quality to replace long term absentees of Oliver and Chapman.

 

1-1. Pattison for Cook

 

I’d add Osudebe to the ‘not good enough’ list based on what he’s shown so far. He looked position less last year.

Is he a wing back, CM, supporting midfielder? Nobody knows. Jack of all trades, master of none. Would love to be proved wrong if he stays injury free, mind.

 

Not there but understand Boro overplaying at the back led to the goal.

What is it with teams insisting on doing this.

Fair enough. Don't think anybody can properly judge Osadebe at this moment in time. Last season was a horror one for him. Let's see how he goes this one.

Derbyshire is back up, that's for sure but has already popped up with goals in very limited appearances so far. There are other missing and I also acknowledged there is room for improvement. Far from weak though.

 

I have an awful feeling this 3 at the back is going to be a horrible mess for us and we are going to concede far more than last season

I’m just relieved we aren’t going to have to rely on Cook for goals this year.

 

From what I'm seeing we look to have far more pace, movement, passing through midfield and general attacking intent than last season.
When players get the ball under pressure there are others showing for the ball to keep it moving, rather than it always going back to Lewis or the CBs. I know they're playing mostly youngsters but I've been pretty impressed so far.
