    Said it before, Rod. It’s not just about Covid it’s injuries as well leaving a minimum of 14 players including a gk. Mansfield had 14 yesterday but less today so Wednesday at Harrogate is off.

    I’m misunderstanding what you are saying here. It’s almost like you are suggesting if a club has too many injuries that they can tell the EFL that they can’t field a team?
    If that’s the case then it’s open to abuse. Covid is a contagious disease and so if the squad are all infected or isolating I fully understand the postponements but surely if half the squad gave a hamstring injury you can’t simply go to the EFL asking for a postponement? You should play the kids and if you lose you lose, that’s football.

    I get what your saying and I’m in favour of anything that may give Bradford City a competitive edge but this is very much blurring the lines as it’s borderline cheating, unless of course they name the players affected so it’s transparent.

    Anyway, let’s hope the plan works and we gain 9 points from the postponed games.
    If we lose them all it would be pointless (get it? Pointless lol)

    26 games across the 4 leagues postponed on Boxing Day, 11 games across the leagues tomorrow have been postponed - so far. Are all those teams 'borderline cheating' and not being 'transparent' as well, or is it just us that are guilty of these crimes?

    Bolton for example have specifically used us as an example of how the rules should be applied to get their next game off, just like Mansfield.

    The risk clubs are taking if they claim injuries that aren't true is that the EFL can ask to see any medical records to confirm why the player is injured. Also like the Premier League they can sent their doctor or an independent doctor to check over players so they are taking a risk if they do get caught but not sure how likely that is. Only way the EFL can do a lot about this is by sending doctors around the clubs with random spot checks similar to how drugs tests are done then clubs really are taking big risks faking injuries.

    A tight hamstring or a painful groin are impossible to disprove.
    I could say I felt my left calf tighten up and I don’t want to risk it getting worse and nobody knows but me if it’s true.

    Why are the club so keen to conceal it? Was public knowledge that Steven Gerrard was isolating at Villa. It’s not some dirty secret they need to hide, just be transparent. Fans will then understand if 5 players have Covid. By not doing so it opens them and all the other clubs up to accusations of giving ‘half truths’
    I see anyway that Adams has already sowed the seed as justification for a defeat by saying some players might not have fully recovered and he’s gonna check on their fitness.
    So just tell us who these players are and we’ll maybe understand a below par performance.

    I think the Gerard comment is a bit odd. A high profile manager not present on the sidelines might get noticed. Whereas as a missing players could be down to anything, form, tactics, injury, COVID. When a team plays in that weird Premteam reserves thing, how many people were demanding COVID reports when 8 or so regular players didn’t appear?

    Well it’s all water under the bridge now, what’s done is done however legitimate.
    In a back handed way there are clubs who have achieved their desired winter break and clubs who have taken advantage of the situation to ease their injury problems, but we move on and hope to pick up 50 points in the second half of the season to reach the playoffs.
    To achieve that we’ll need title winning form otherwise it’s league 2 again next season.
