I posted the same when he brought Lund on I thought he's shutting up the shop as Pitman had just made it 1-1, but all credit to Grayson Lund did a good job and managed to get our second goal.

 

Pretty much so. We needed players ready to step up to the plate. Guy has done that in spades, and let's hope Lund and Breunker continue to improve and put in the shifts.

Its no surprise we have put in to decent performances when we have adjusted to the basics, solid 4 at the back, two workhorses in midfield and two lumps upfront. Its not rocket science nor is it pretty but its gotten results for years and years and why its taken 3 months to revert to i do not know.

Not a big fan of the antics used against us in recent years that we are now taking up, time wasting, petty fouls etc but my god its affective and probably something we have been missing.

Grayson in charge next year, it certainly wont be pretty but i wouldnt be shy of backing us for promotion with the right tools provided by the board in the summer..i like the way he just drifted off tonight, celebrated the first goal but at the end shook hands with his counterparts and left, no histrionics no getting caught up in the celebration, just simply job done and off he went

 

Yes the kid has a decent long throw and I smiled when Tony Mc came to take one second half and Robinson came over and had a word Tony Mc threw him the ball and reacted like a petulant child, his throw in's are more accurate than crosses or corners it should be used every change we get if its within Robinsons range.

 

You answered it yourself! Grayson should have come with that rocket as soon as he took charge. Glad it's had the desired effect after the Blackpool game, but sadly I fear it's all a little too late.

 

Taken awhile to get whatever affected the players out of the system but credit to Grayson for dealing with it and getting the players back performing, The desire to win the game was at last evident after been missing for months

 

Yep, i go back to what grayson after the Blackpool game. Anyone can have a bad game with the ball but there are no excuses for a bad game without the ball. Its just running, tackling and filling in gaps. Everyone should be capable of that.

We have taken 4 points out of six from two promotion contenders, not by playing football, thats been poor to average, but by simply working damn hard. If only now we could combine the two

 

I'd rather we signed an attacking midfielder. Far too many times early on in the season we got found out on the counter as Vincelot was too far forward trying to score.

 

Have to echo a lot of the sentiments on the thread. For me, that was our best performance at home all season. A lot of fight and desire but some quality in there as well. Grayson has been demanding that kind of performance for weeks now so it's great that he has been rewarded.

The tactical battle was impressive last night. Callum Guy was clearly set the task of shadowing highly rated youngster Connor Ronan and did the job exceptionally. Jackett made the switch by bringing Ronan off and putting the big lad up front to try and get more space for Brett Pitman which worked well for them despite turning them into a route one outfit. Guy did look a little lost without Ronan to focus on so Grayson's switch to put him in front of the back four with Lund linking the midfield to Wyke was a great change.

I don't think anyone had a bad game. They all did their jobs brilliantly. Huge improvements from McMahon, NKP, Gilliead & Wyke. Even Vincelot made a strong impact from the bench. Dieng and Doyle are certainly doing their best to earn that new deal. While Warnock was superb, Callum Guy pipped him for my motm. So much energy, kept it simple with the ball and did his defensive duties well. Derby have plenty of strong central midfielders so while he will want to try and break through there, I'd be delighted to see him back at least on a season long loan.

 

Was Edin at the match last night. Usually see him about but not yesterday

 

Yes he was there - he was applauding the players off the pitch at the end of the game.
