Don’t think of City as a ship!

We are a submarine, sometimes we ‘dive’, but despite crap times, we know it will get better once again.

We will surface again, perhaps not this season, which could go to the wire, but look at this in the long term.

If you have been supporting City for ‘many decades’, you know that this is a truism!;)

I genuinely thought we had enough quality in the side to get out of trouble and still do.
I was looking back at some of the comments on here in the summer when we were making signings and even some of the most negative posters were saying we had brought some decent players in even if a few were pointing out rightly that we were unbalanced. I did think in January that we would address our weaknesses with somedecent signings which I put in the post you keep, quoting. I think the failure to bring the right type of striker and some width has made the task harder but I think if we keep up the way we played today we an do it. However just to please you it looks like the odds are against us and that post could be way off.

I think you are right with most of this assessment but way off with OConnor he was marking who looked like a very good striker and I thought he was close to MOM for me

Ladapo was pathetic today, I didn't look him up prior to the game or listen to any coverage, just watched the game and thought he was absolutely awful.

Perhaps the worst post on here in 2019.

Doyle was very poor, but their centre forward made him look like an England international.

    He was chronic.

I agree with all of your comments, although I thought you were generous to Doyle. I think DH needs to find somebody to who can play with him up top, so far we haven’t, or we go completely off the wall and try some of the younger lads Tom Clare? I note he has not found a way to impress DH, but just have to try and find a way to score. Doyle looks bereft of ideas and confidence. I actually enjoyed the second half and if one of our chances is in the back of the net, there would be a different ambience on this board. I want to see 2 strikers up top, can’t understand why we don’t. I noticed that frequently when they had a corner, we just left Payne in the middle, we just need to be a little more aggressive and go for it, clearly Plymouth were tiring towards the end.

It’s the balance that’s the problem. Our collection of midfielders and ‘number 10s’ is as good as anything in the league.

Our strikers and centre backs are gash. And the lack of a real width is a problem.

A quality winger, striker and centre back would massively benefit this team. As was the case going into January. We’ve done sod all about it.

He was very poor Park. The fact our brittle central defence looked so comfortable, says it all really

I think people holding on to the fact we are only in the bottom 4 on goal difference are slightly misguided. We’ve a terrible run of fixtures in March and I’ll be amazed if we are not 5/6 points adrift come April.

I would take needing a win to stay up on the last day right now

    I’m expecting the worst tbh

Sorry don’t agree OConnor played him well but he was a handful he was fast moving has quick feet and in the first half in particular I thought he was a real threat. As I say I wish he was ours

Very true, others did the same during the Parky era, but don't seem to get the same recognition.

No surprise you're wrong, both O'Connor and NKP dealt with the threat of Lapado fairly easily, can't say thats happened that often this season. Lets face anyone would look a real threat for us with the toothless strikers we've got.

I'm afraid Doyle has been a big disappointment all season. I get that he may need someone up front to play off but there comes a point where a striker needs to start making his own chances and put away some of the chances that fall his way. He's not even done that. Take away his penalties and his goal return is going to look like an average midfielders.
    Not that we've got anyone else mind. . . . .
