Can’t fault the performance in the second half. Took the game to them and should have scored at least one goal. We pressed high up the pitch and played some nice passing football to create some decent chances in the final third. Just a shame we didn’t get the goal to win the game and also a shame that we didn’t play like that first half.

A note on Chicksen, I thought this was the best game I’ve seen him have. Made some great tackles/blocks, put a couple of great crosses into the box, his overall distribution was good and he was generally solid in both attack and defence.

    • Thought it was a tactical masterpiece to replace Doyle with Miller in the 90th minute, pure genius

One up front at home in a must win game as done for me. Yes the wide men were getting forward but we never had that other body where we needed it. Very strange subs, akpan especially, didnt help. Hopkin can go for me

We just can't play with 26 midfielders and Doyle wandering around aimlessly by himself.

Miller has to play to give options because neither Payne nor Clarke are forwards.

And it was twelve years ago yesterday that the premature sacking of Colin Todd with no replacement lined up that pretty much sealed our last relegation from this level. Always worth remembering...

It looked like ALL our decent chances were coming from the right side, take a bow Caddis and Ball.

Someone other than jack Payne should be taking corners, they were uniformly awful and try a bit of variety like a short ball to O'Brien or Butterfield- its not like we are blessed with tall options in there.

First half was appalling, one of the worst halves I've seen at any level and arguably even worse than anything that joker collins served up.

Attacking players in the team yes, but we were too rigid and trying to be too organised - players trying their best not to go out of their position which meant the man on the ball had precisely zero options infront of him. At first I thought it was the players fault but listening to Hopkin post match and his comments about not taking Clarke off because he's experienced and holds his position pretty much says this was his tactic and instruction.

Thankfully he saw his c*ck up (makes a change from usual) and allowed the attack to be more fluid, get the ball down and with more movement we batter them in the second half (shock horror). Should've taken our chances and won the game but in all honesty you can't turn up for only half a game and expect 3 points.

Subs were laughable. Payne off again when we're desperate for a goal and playing 1 upfront for the whole 90 minutes in a must win game. He settled for a point quite frankly and was more scared of losing the game than having the balls to go out and win it.

We're not signing David Edgar apparently as we're now well stocked in that area according to Hopkin. So why have we wasted his and our time having him on trial for the past few weeks? Complete joke, get out and bring a striker and winger in, you know players in positions which we actually need.

I'm resigned to relegation. A horrendous March fixture list and four teams above us having at least 1 game in hand makes it the impossible for me. 7 wins from 13 needed now - No chance.

I agree when next years season ticket prices were announce the other week I thought anyone who had the slightest interest in Bradford City would buy one.
Two weeks later I'm getting more and more concerned that David Hopkin still hasnt got us performing consistently to anything like we can, now I can see why the likes of your above won't be renewing.
I'm really starting to doubt Hopkin is the man to take us forward if we do get relegated.

Our closed season is certainly going to be interesting.
I believe the low cost of next seasons ticker and the clubs statement with regards April being the cut off, could have a massive effect on where Stefan sees our club going.
If we are still fighting for our league one status around the end of the offer I think we will be lucky to get 12,000 sold.
Like it or not, much now depends on how David Hopkin and his players perform untill14th April, and looking at some of the up and coming fixtures they don't fill me with optimism.

That suits some of our fans down to the ground. Makes them feel a guilt trip if we are successful, "Eeh i remember t' days when there were just me old George stood ont' kop aht bottom division 4. Pitch were under 2 foot a mud and we din't see a shot on goal for 3 months. Halcyon days wi proper fans.'

Fair comment pal. I just don't get why supposed supporters just lay into the club and team at any available opportunity. Makes you wonder why they even bother coming on here to spout their negativity.

Yes this is a forum but some are just hell bent on posting negative posts for some strange reason. I include @bantamdave41@bantamdave41 and @Fordy117@Fordy117 in that group.
Constantly sniping and unwilling to post positive comments-always negative. Almost seems like they would LOVE us to be relegated to prove their points.

    Not for me.

We are all guilty of taking a position in a debate and hanging on for dear life just to save face. Relax it doesn’t matter either way, the only thing that matters now is that we crawl across the league 1 line in May.

Plymouth, bar Carey and Lameiras, were a poor side. Offered very little as an attacking side. That said, we offer little as a goal threat and its killing us. We played better second half but could hardly play any worse than that first half. 1 point from 2 winnable home games and a tough run of fixtures coming isn’t a good sign.

The big thing is the one point from two winnable home games against not great opposition.

Certainly played better than last week, but still not good enough. The lack of striker options is embarrassing. How on earth have the board and managerallowed this to happen?

Hopkin far too negative with his subs today
