We'll get bugger all at Pompy so if we got nowt at Walsall it'll be 1 point from 12.

 

On a positive note, I think that was the most dominant performance from O'Connor and NKP I've seen. Didn't lose a header all game.

 

It’s the balance that’s the problem. Our collection of midfielders and ‘number 10s’ is as good as anything in the league.

Our strikers and centre backs are gash. And the lack of a real width is a problem.

A quality winger, striker and centre back would massively benefit this team. As was the case going into January. We’ve done sod all about it.

 

The first half was indeed something to miss, @Bronco. The second half though was very much improved and we were mostly attacking and in and around their box. Their keeper made several excellent saves including a spectacular one from a Doyle header that I thought was in and Ball hit the post. We were saying around us why didn't the team play like that for the whole game. There was tempo and drive in the second half almost entirely absent in the first. The players deserved the appreciative round of applause they got at the end. The disappointment was in not getting the three points. The Plymouth keeper was their best player.

Some of our fans embrace mediocrity like a long time friend, they've watched it for so long they know nothing different. Even when we are abysmal they will try and find a ray of sunshine amongst the sea of shite.

 

There ain’t half some drama queens and fickle sorts on here.

If we beat Plymouth we’re likely out the relegation zone, so relax for now and get behind the boys Saturday.

If we lose, then have a moan and winge. Big game coming up, let’s get on the same page.

Wandering around the web, as one does, one found a website, Football365, with an interesting preview for our match. How shall we counter Plymouth's "probable" 4-5-1 line-up? With an "any midfield you can flood, we can flood more" approach: 3-6-1 (!) But that's not all; our defenders will include a certain Kilgallon, our midfield Wright, Reeves, and Scannell, and our lone forward will be...Wyke.

A bonus point or two for creativity, and minus a few zillion for detachment from reality!

As i said weeks ago, no way in hell clarke can play on the left. Slow and sloppy.

Badly missing Akpan, they are breaking through midfield so easily. Butter and obrien are none existent. Never offering an option.

What happened to 433 and high pressure. It was working.

 

The January signings have not improved the team. Creating nothing and not looking like scoring.

 

The bright side has been Caddis. Excellent crosses and workrate. Also gives a shit - been in the the ears of the oppo all game, and is trying to gee up the rest of the team.

It takes some doing to build a more toothless attack than Hanson/Clarke.

But we've done it.

 

Their keeper had one save of note to make. Ball also hit the post.

We pressed and we tried. But we’re completely toothless. No width, no penetration, no presence in the box. Unless Payne weaves a bit of magic, we’ve got nothing.

The caddis one was fairly straight forward. Akpans effort was awful.

Bottom line - 1 point and no goals scored from the last 2 games is nowhere near good enough. Relegation standard all day long.

Today’s opposition have won 7 of the last 8 we needed three points and didn’t get them but the players gave their all and put in a good performance. If we continue to play like today we stand a chance
