I've always respected your previous posts on several subjects but I can't get away from the fact that this gesture has been proven to be decisive, which helps no one...

'If the FL/PL were to find another gesture I bet within weeks the boos will have long gone but the more they carry on you will still hear the boos.'
Yep, we should go back to the stand up to racism thing we did last year... whilst some people genuinely believe taking the knee is a Marxist gesture, despite everyone doing so telling them till they're blue in the face it's not, there's also a lot of people for whom it's a very convenient cover to allow them to boo black players for the first time in decades. Take away any possibility of people being able to claim it's anything other than an anti-racism thing, whether they're doing it genuinely or disingenuously, and it will stop because at heart racists are cowards and they won't do it without the cover of plausible deniability, this knee thing is giving them a field day -

What is the difference between taking the knee and that stupid gentle walk out, line up and hand shakes before a match ? Give me players running out side by side and giving each other some (non racial) abuse every time. I don't boo at that either but like the knee it has run its course.Stop hovering to collapse... He even looks a bit like Frank Spencer. Wooooh Betty! Whose going to see the Queen on Christmas Day?
I won't be able to look at him now without thinking of Frank Spencer and me end up going for a whoopsy. -
Just a quick note. This thread seems to have left City and Valley Parade and wandered into territory which relates to society as a whole, England football team, politics in general.
If someone wants to start a fresh thread in general chat then fine, otherwise please only put a fresh post in this section if it has a specific link to Bradford City. -

Racism comes in many forms and isn't restricted to online racist abuse. Thete are other ways in which to make racist views known.
I agree with you that fans are not booing the players per se. Most teams I've witnessed making the gesture are a mixture of black and white and thus booing a mixed group of players wouldn't make sense. They are therefore booing the gesture which the players are making.
Or as I might put it, they are not booing any old gesture. They are booing an anti-racist gesture being made by a group of players. 'Nuf said! -
