Personally I think the booing is racist. They are booing because they disagree vocally with Taking The Knee and are happy to show it. Essentially booing an action aimed at highlighting racism. I don't agree with it so I will just not react to it. That's the non racist way to react. Booing is totally wrong, it's a free world and if they want to continue it forever they have the right to do so, irrespective of who wants it or not.

What is the difference between taking the knee and that stupid gentle walk out, line up and hand shakes before a match ? Give me players running out side by side and giving each other some (non racial) abuse every time. I don't boo at that either but like the knee it has run its course.

Brilliant Uyllses. Probably not a racist bone in his body, just a bit of a plonker. Must be all the sea air in Scarborough.
He even looks a bit like Frank Spencer. Wooooh Betty! Whose going to see the Queen on Christmas Day?
I won't be able to look at him now without thinking of Frank Spencer and me end up going for a whoopsy.

A lot of the booing is probably racist, especially at football internationals in the likes of Poland and Hungary. Didn't Poland refuse to take refugees because they were Muslims and Poland is a Christian country. I would have thought that the EU would have kicked them out for that.
Parts of Europe are very racist.

Just a quick note. This thread seems to have left City and Valley Parade and wandered into territory which relates to society as a whole, England football team, politics in general.
If someone wants to start a fresh thread in general chat then fine, otherwise please only put a fresh post in this section if it has a specific link to Bradford City.

    Sadly so, and well put.
OffComedium has done us all a favour by pointing out you meant to write divisive not decisive. Your post now makes much more sense. Still don't agree with you mate, but it's your right to put your views and how you feel onto this forum. I have every respect for that.

Two ways to look at this l. Keep taking 'the knee' to apparently highlight racism or stop taking it as it isn't stopping individual incidents like the one in the above tweet. Doesnt matter what gesture you do, whether that be a bend on knee or a power salute or what ever is dreamt up next, you will never stop unintelligence. I mean, we've had more publicity than ever regarding racism, more campaigns and t shirt wearing, more slogans than you can shake a stick at. We might not like it but regardless of what you do it won't disappear, the stupidity of the human race dictates that.

It's sad but true. I'm not knocking taking the knee but it won't make an apath of difference to genuine moron racists.
We make a big deal about people using the wrong or inappropriate word in conversation or in writing or text. At the end of the day it makes no difference to real racists like the ones in the Bolton Wanderers incident or the racists in Hungary, Poland and even some so called England fans who will never accept players of colour playing for England. It is annoying and also very sad.
All taking the knee does is highlight the issue to people who are already aware of it.

You see exactly as I do. Theres a narrative abound that we can somehow see the end of racism when in truth it's ingrained in society. Don't mistake the fact I think it's wrong but then as the Bolton example shows we will never have a society that wholly thinks like I'd expect a tolerant society to think.

To be honest that's a weird take on things in my personal view and is desperately trying to find a plausible excuse for booing taking the knee which doesnt exist. Comparing it to booing diving or a bad decision is not the same. Next time your partner moans about her sexist boss at work start booing her and then compare it to booing a ref. Good luck with that

Its unlikeky to make a difference quickly but if that racist person was to turn around and see the whole crowd glaring at them as opposed to a few people laughing and the rest looking the other way, change will happen. Noone likes being a pariah

People know why people boo taking the knee it is no secret and although I haven't done so myself I do agree with those booing. As for comparing boos if a ref makes a bad decision and fans then boo just shows people wish to pick and choice to when someone can be offended or not to somebody's else's action. Fans aren't Booing black players they are Booing the gesture being made.

Booing is not racist in any shape or form no matter what anyone thinks however sending racist abuse either online or by calling someone verbally most certainly is.

Yes, you are very clear in what you say!

Racism comes in many forms and isn't restricted to online racist abuse. Thete are other ways in which to make racist views known.

I agree with you that fans are not booing the players per se. Most teams I've witnessed making the gesture are a mixture of black and white and thus booing a mixed group of players wouldn't make sense. They are therefore booing the gesture which the players are making.

Or as I might put it, they are not booing any old gesture. They are booing an anti-racist gesture being made by a group of players. 'Nuf said!

That would be like people still trying to link players kneeling with marxism even though players have explained time and again that it isn't.
