Isn’t that less than last year and a lot less than the year before?

When PP left wasn’t there just 8 players under contract?

Forgot to add Jordan Gibson & Joel Grodowski

    Under contract

    Hanson
    Mcgowan
    Kilgallon
    Knight-percival
    Chicksen
    Vincelot
    Reeves
    Devine
    Robinson
    Patrick
    Poleon
    McCarran
    Wyke
    Brunker
    Jones

    Then there is
    Staunton
    Hawkins
    Gunner

    Plus the likes of
    Kirkpatrick
    Maltby
    Peter
    Laird
    Powell

To name a few who have pro contracts but I don'
    Know how long

Looking at that we have big squad but not alot of quality

Out of the players who are out of contract I’d imagine that only Doyle and Law are on decent money.
You could maybe say Dieng and McMahon too but Dieng came in after a trial and McMahon was in no rush to sign last summer.
What I’m saying is don’t expect too many decent signings this summer. There simply won’t be much budget available especially considering that it’s likely to be a reduced budget due to low season ticket sales.

It’s fecking petrifying thinking about how poor our squad is going to be next year unless the owners fork out and invest in order to rectify their mistakes or we get decent money for Wyke.

Season of massive struggle ahead guaranteed.

Depends on what you’re classing as squad players. Should we really be including the likes of Staunton, Hawkins, Gunner,
Kirkpatrick, Maltby, Peter, Laird and Powell? There’s even an argument that we shouldn’t be including Hanson, Devine, Patrick & Brunkner as these are really Dev Squad players.

If you do take all those out of the list, we definitely need a massive reshape of the squad. Can’t see Law, Saatelmaier, Raeder or Grodowski being given a new deal. McMahon will leave on a free and the only ones I can see us trying to keep will be Doyle and Dieng

Point I a making is that's a large squad who have a first team number yet without sounding harsh has little or no experience and looks to lack quality.

Not forgetting that the pitch is supposed to be coming out of the players budget

I have a feeling there is an outside chance McMahon will be offered a new contract. Given captains armband over Vincelot when Kilgallon could have always been an option, indicates Grayson has some belief in him (if Grayson stays!).

We can predict so much but the bigger subject is who will be manager. Until we know that, it’s hard to predict who will still be here.

If we offer McMahon a new contract and he is still here next season then this club is in serious trouble.

Please will fans understand that we need better than Tony McMahon and most of the other 10 1st team players.

We're midtable/lower division 1 side now for a reason and the main reason is that our 1st team isn't good enough.

If McMahon stays there’s a chance his mate Charlie could sign a new contract.

Yes I think it was around that number @Storck@Storck, the difference being they were all proven players under their time at the club, not sure I'd want many of who are out of contract retaining, and maybe some who still have a contract with the club.

Always feel that a squad of 25 professional’s is necessary. If you add a full development squad team, then that is 36 professionals. No more and it may well be that some of the professionals are also development squad players.

At one point we had 43 https://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/teams/first-team/

We all know that and most agree @Fordy117@Fordy117 , the sticking point is do the owners and if they do will they invest in quality rather than young potential development players, in the hope they progress and we receive a good transfer fee for them.

The young developing squad is a load of tosh. An excuse for a football club that dont want to spend money.
