Payne was born in london so maybe keen to get back darn 'sarf.

Going to be a shame to lose him so Hoppy better have a plan B ready to come in.

 

The number of times I've heard Simon Parker say that he's confident that Hopkin will get in a replacement worries me a bit. Seems like he already knows he's off.

 

Both played fantastic today! Great players. Even if we just have them on loan till the end of the season that will do for me.

Rupp should put his money where his mouth is and sign them.

Interesting times. Payne and O'Brien are just the type of players we need if we are to get to the championship, as Rupp wants.
Investing in Hopkin is proving a wise decision. Now is the time for Rupp to show he means business. Never mind the wage structure, surely Rupp now realises that good players need to be paid for after signing Wright, Seedorf, Brunker etc.
Now is the time we start to build for promotion next season.

Might be me reading too much into it, but maybe a positive indication with Payne playing today? We have no game now till 12th - Huddersfield could’ve asked that we not play him today to prevent injury risk, to allow time for a deal with other clubs to be done...?

 

They can not do that. Only way for them to stop him playing is to recall him which they will not want to do until the deal is all finalised

 

Get rid of wright Jones and possibly Riley maybe loan out a few fringe players use the money saved to get Payne that's what I would be trying to do.

 

Who would take any of those three and actually pay their wages till end of season? Jones will probably break down day after signing, and Riley and Wright who would take a risk

 

I wonder if there was any significance in taking him off in the 2nd half so he could get a standing ovation. Hope it was for his performance today rather than a thank you, in case we don’t see him again.

 

There will be takers always is, can see jones going to l2 possibly back to port vale only 6 months left on contract. As for Wright Oxford interest seems to have cooled but others have enquired MK Dons were rumoured as one and Riley that's a bit of strange one he looks like there could be a player him in but looks way of the pace of league 1 football at present although wilder thought he was good enough until he got injured at sheff utd. Omari Patrick should be another shown the door.
