Lewis O'Brien's agent works in my building.

He confirmed that Lewis has extended his Loan until the end of the season, will be reporting to training tomorrow

Anyone heard radio Leeds interview with David Wagner regarding Payne and O'brien, he basically said he is happy with both their progress with us with both playing regular football and although there is a clause to recall them back he doesn't seem to want to do so as it stands. Let's hope it stays that way.

Both players have taken their chance to play regular football and for me there have been performances from both which have made me totally forget they are loan players, such as been their sheer commitment whilst playing for us in difficult circumstances.

 

Interesting times. Payne and O'Brien are just the type of players we need if we are to get to the championship, as Rupp wants.
Investing in Hopkin is proving a wise decision. Now is the time for Rupp to show he means business. Never mind the wage structure, surely Rupp now realises that good players need to be paid for after signing Wright, Seedorf, Brunker etc.
Now is the time we start to build for promotion next season.

It's probably not realistic but I'd be moving heaven and earth to get Payne permanently in January. Build the team around him next year. Put a clause in the contract about any potential relegation if he's wary of L2 where we will agree to sell at the price we purchase for.

He is top class at this level.

 

Payne's worth £500k of anyone's money even with a short contract, I don't know our financial situation but if possible definitely worth a bid.

 

He has played for both Rovrum and City this season, as far as I'm aware it doesnt matter whether loan or permanent you can still only play for 2

I tend to agree with them, I think in the championship he would be an impact sub. At this level he's a consistent quality player and he's now somewhere he is getting adored. If the finances can be sorted his future should be here where he can grow and realise the potential he has.

 

Why?

We play 4 league games before the end of Jan.

If he leaves on the 30th then wave him goodbye and at least he would of helped us in these 4 key games.

 

I think we should try and keep Ball, he seems to fit in with the rest of the midfield, whilst he doesn't pull up many trees, I really think he is an asset to the team

I agree with Ricky. Sadly Jack's form has alerted others. I am not ITK but I know from contacts that the Makems are very keen and hear others also. Don't forget Jack's contract runs out this summer and Dean Hoyle will not want to loose financially on an asset.
Equally for us there is the question of Town's valuation if Payne were to go and on top of that there are wages to consider, Town are currently paying half as I understand which if true would be a fairly standard deal with players from higher level clubs joining such as us.
I hope I'm wrong but think Jack could be gone at the end of the window, however, if so have faith in DH getting a good replacement now he has control of transfers.
