It's a confidence thing with Odour, some games this season he looks unplayable and then we get the Odour who seems frightened of doing something with the ball like we know he can do.

Absolutely spot on. I'm sure no one would have argued that Arthur Graham, Trevor Cherry & Roy McFarland were well past their prime when they joined us. Though if the argument were around Frank Stapleton, Gordon Cowans or Mick Duxbury, that would have been a different matter.

Odours football ability is like mine at pool. 99% of the time I can miss an easy shot, but 1% of the time I can pull off a worldy and beat anyone. The differenc eis I can only do the latter when I am so pissed I don't know what ball I am hitting, and sober I'm probably in the worlds worst ten pool players.

I'd say multiple promotions in 3 or 4 years is a pretty good sign of being well run, yes.

2 promotions in 3 seasons for both sides says to me 'well run'.

Wrexham put the right people in charge, to help them learn the ropes and do the things they don't have time for. Don't know too much about Stockport but looks like they doing ok.

Would you trust Rupp, Sparks and Gent to throw £2m into the playing budget and spend it wiseley in an attempt to guarantee promotion? We must have spent close to £2m paying off Vaughan, McCall, Trueman/Sellers, Adams, Hughes.

The definition of a well run club is certainly not one that has endless pots of money thrown at it, rather one that lives and survives on a shoestring without external big investment would by my definition . Harrogate perhaps?

Of the three only Mansfield would come remotely close, County, Disneyland, MKD absolutely no chance! .Take out owner “ investment” masking huge running business losses and what do you have?

A very poorly run club in my book.

Yes agree, “throwing money “ at a project, in business sense doesn’t mean always mean well run, we both know that.

    Snippet from today's presser.

    Simple don't waste the money.
Really hope we get it right in the summer with recruitment big task with two outcomes success or failure.

Yeah, thank god we're not either of Wrexham, MK Dons or Stockport....

I think there's a lot more to come from Oduor if he's played in the right position and given a run of games. The Oduor v Wycombe and the previous game won him man of the match accolades. He was full of confidence. Next game he finds himself partnering Macdonald in centre midfield and looked completely out of place before being subbed. That's on Alexander. He doesn't have the discipline for that position.
With Pattison, Young, Cook, Kavanagh, Walker, Pointon, Oduor and Wilson, with potentially Wright, we have good attacking options but how do we get a system that gets goals on a regular basis. With 6 and 7 defensive players every time there's going to be a lot of disappointed players in the squad and we haven't even started recruitment.

I reckon there won't be too much ins and outs this summer.

I get the impression GA thinks it just needs tweeking, rather than a complete rebuild.

I think 3 or 4 incoming transfers at most.

This is what Hughes should have done last summer instead of a mass influx of players and change of formation

This squad is dire! I've seen some spineless crap at VP over the years and a number of this lot are up in the top 10.
There's no leadership or desire, granted a few of them are decent footballers, but there's not a single personality or a 'winner' amongst them.
This squad with a few 'tweaks' wouldn't take us above half way in the league.

Harrogate have money... They got to where they are by being bankrolled heavily. So be under no illusions that they're a self funding plucky under dog.

Let’s not change the topic shall we?

Did I hear anyone say we were a poorly run club this time last year?

Nothing changes in football, investment and money buys success at the end of the day.

Not unless you’re Edin Rahic it doesn’t. A fool and his money are easily parted. It’s more than just investment and money that buys success.

Sparks has at last surrounded himself with people who aren't rugby boys, so we should be on a better position to use a bigger budget.

If we can't make a go of it next season, though, Sparks absolutely has to go.

It worries me that he is still attending the meetings Sharpe has with GA because that gives him the opportunity to keep meddling in matters he should be taking a step back from.
