If it came to deciding final league positions based on current standings then I'm all for it. Nothing is 'fair' in this situation but such a move is probably fairer than any other. Of course City could argue that they were within a few points of a play off place but to be honest I don't think we've deserved a play off place anyway. It will be more unfortunate for teams that get relegated.

 

Well both of us will be celebrating our 51st wedding anniversary tomorrow, we were going out, but have cancelled it, neither of us want to put ourselves at risk. We are staying most of the time, just going out for walks. My family have decided not to come over as normal, as once again they don’t want to put us at risk. It’s Mother’s Day next week, so no seeing my grandsons or my son and daughter in law. Our life has already changed.

I am worried, this virus is something else, and it will mutate that is what they do. I realise that ppl are questioning how the government are handling this. The only way you can stop it is by quarantine the whole country aka Italy. However, we don’t know what will happen once the brakes come off.

We all have to try and be optimistic and keep up our spirits and collectively look after each other. We are now on road nobody has travelled before in our lifetime.

I think I should be drinking as well. Never smoked in my life, try to keep fit, mainly walking these days. We haven’t been out for days, just walking on the moors, no other ppl up there just sheep. Just been reading we are going to be told to quarantine for 4 months next week, argggh!! We will do it, because it is the right thing to do. There is no cure, and we do not want to put ourselves at risk. It is all very grim and there doesn’t appear to be any fun on the horizon. Unless we do what the Italians are doing and sing Lol

 

Thanks it's going to be a long 16 weeks. But no choice most folk (like me) who are over 70 have certain health probs. Just have to grin and bare it

 

Sad to say, yes we do now live in a selfish society. Panic and stockpiling is not going to end well. If that continues rationing will be brought in.

Each country are trying to manage the situation based on their own particular needs and health service. Matt Hammond is saying that they are trying to expand capacity as fast as they can. Commissioning hotels and private hospitals. Standing down non urgent operations freeing up staff for training to look after Corvid 19 patients. Galvanising engineers and manufacturing to make ventilators. We have 5000, and that will not be enough. This is going to be a really tough call. Any critics of the government need to think long on hard. Not one single health service from around the world can cope with the peaks, it is as simple as that. Maybe they should think about that for the future. No point in wittering on this should happen, that should have happened etc etc. Time for solutions not highlighting problems. Hand wringing is banned.

 

Some of the same people fighting over bog paper in the supermarket look down at those people fleeing persecution in their country and take to boats or cross borders risking their lives to search for a new life.

The hypocrisy is all there to see.

In 37 games this season i can count on hand the amount of performances i would expect of a promotion winning side, thats my measuring stick of where this squad rates. Even at home, where results are good, we couldn't even game manage against the 9 men of Plymouth. Since then Plymouth have scored 6 in two games on a decent surface. Yeah that mudbath of ours really is a leveller.
We are in as bad a position as when Parkinson first took over, i think McCall has quickly realised and is under no illusion just how rotten this club has become.
