The latest data from Italy shows that if you're over 70, the fatality rate is near 50%. For their known cases.
Edit - for clarity that's the upper end, pushed up by stats for over 80s and 90s. 70s-80s is lower

Yeah it's extremely high the over 70's underlying health issues or not will be told next week mate.

Great news, only a 1:2 chance of survival, not great odds. Although the infection rate is off, or so the scientists are saying. I imagine Italy’s is as well. They are saying tonight 1,104 cases, 21 deaths, but the true rate of infection is nearer 10,000. Anyway what will be will be.

 

Just to be clear, its 50/50 over 90 years old. Over 70, you need to be very careful though. I misread the stats. I've been drinking!

 

The issue becomes more serious if you're smoker or have any underline issues.

The best thing any smoker can do right now, is to stop smoking. Especially if your over 60

Just turned 70 in October

 

I think I should be drinking as well. Never smoked in my life, try to keep fit, mainly walking these days. We haven’t been out for days, just walking on the moors, no other ppl up there just sheep. Just been reading we are going to be told to quarantine for 4 months next week, argggh!! We will do it, because it is the right thing to do. There is no cure, and we do not want to put ourselves at risk. It is all very grim and there doesn’t appear to be any fun on the horizon. Unless we do what the Italians are doing and sing Lol
