The biggest fear I have is that the man seems that stubborn he could be around for a long time

 

The worst thing about this whole debacle is the resulting chaos on these boards. It's dog eat dog here right now. Posters who are normally placid are turning on other like minded posters or even goading other posters. There's some horrible slanging matches going on right now, people venting their anger at each other when in reality the blame lies elsewhere. We should get a grip and not lose sight of our common goal. I've never seen this board in such anarchy.

 

Rahic or Collins?

 

The level of exposure that Lampard has had to top managerial talent clearly puts him in another league to Collins in the short term.

Someone who has seen how managers such as Mourinho, Ancellotti, Capello, etc, etc operate obviously has more experience to draw on than somebody who views Michael Appleton as their biggest managerial influence.

You're comparing somebody who has served an apprenticeship under several master craftsman with a guy who's done a BTEC in woodwork at Shipley College.

Over time it won't mean anything but in the short term one obviously gives more positive prospect of improvement than the other.

Positivity you say? Here you go then -
After 4 games at the start of the 2016-17 season, Sheffield United were on 1 point. They lost their third game to Southend just like we did, only they lost by 3 goals not 2. If we lose on Tuesday, we will still be 2 points better off than they were at the same point in the 2016-17 season. At the end of that season, they were promoted as champions with 100 points.

I'm trying to be positive mate, but you go ahead and continue to be negative if that's what makes you happy.

 

I have seen nothing to be positive about since Wembley to be fair . I do know though that a club I've supported man and boy for 54 years is at present going down the pan .

Nope they lost it, that's why I said even if we lose on Tuesday, we will still have 2 more points than they did after 4 games.
Look, I'm not suggesting we are going to go on and win the league, just pointing out that to those that are forecasting doom and gloom after three games that they are being a little premature in writing off the season so soon and seeing nothing other than relegation looming when an awful lot can and will change before the season's end.

Did they have a proven experienced manager with tactical nouse
Did they have a good blend of players capable of reaching the heights
Did they have a chairman prepared to back them to the hilt
As you say a lot can change and will have to before the season ends

I take you’re point. We have the backdrop of last seasons debacle which frames many posters position already. Mine included To be fair. I want us to succeed. All posters do. It may be premature flagging our concerns but nothing has been shown to say we are heading the right direction to date. Again I want us to succeed and am happy to eat humble pie as that’d the best outcome for all.

 

It’s not about just losing a couple of league games. We are trying to find some positives in how we are set up and how we are playing. We don’t look like a team waiting to gel. We look a complete mess with a coach who has n’t looked like or proven to anyone anywhere that he has the skills to work it out. We can only hope he finds them quick.
