Nobody has hacked my account, but I feel like Mark Lawn has just replied to me. The reason I mentioned that quote and others have, is because when he was leaving it's what he said, not Julian Rhodes. It's not his fault if they don't spend, but don't make out like you're doing us a favour by selling to owners with ambitions to take us forward. Rhodes has always acted professionally and even stayed on to help after Lawn left with his 30 pieces of silver, and never made out he'd done the club a big favour by selling to foreign investment. So no Rhodes isn't a gob shite, your hero certainly is though, and I'd say you're in a minority who would defend him over it.

 

You really are a bitter man, don't you worry if it is true certainly one of the owners will be out like a shot, you don't need to guess which one .

 

I'd say some on hear have Lawns ear, only reason I can think to defend him against fact.

Well you have a supporter with your theory, Mark is to blame for the situation but not Julian, laughable @Storck.

 

Not bitter at all. Just don't like people trying to stir up trouble rather than acting like decent humans and discussing things face to face.

It doesn't set things up well for any future business relationships when you know one side will just talk and spread rumours rather than just discussing things face to face.

 

If rahic and Rupp are going to sell they best make it quick. We can't afford this to be dragging on when we need to appoint a manager and sign a brand new squad of players

 

Not sure what you are drinking @Bronco . I have never said Mark is to blame for the current situation rather that he claimed that he was selling to people that were going to take the club forward and that built peoples expectations up. If you can not see that you have a very blinkered view of the club and what has happened

 

It took over 12 months for Lawn and Rhodes to sell the club so using those time scales it might just go through by the end of next season

 

Totally agree, if it goes on it July/August I'd fear for relegation next season, far more than I currently do. Regardless of who the owners are.

 

I believe Mark was quite happy to take his share of the sale of the club, just as Julian was, I do hope your comment about these new owners taking us forward comes to fruition soon or we might finish up in the kahzi league again.

You don't know any of what you have written is true, as @Ricky said My understanding is there has been or will be a offer made in the near future to the board to buy the club, but you seem to be working yourself up into a lather over it, if it happens it happens if not we go along with Bill & Ben.

 

This is a problem. If talks are on going to sell up then where does that leave us for next season? They'll want to spend as little as possibly surely which will only end one way

 

If we only discussed things that were definitely true I would have to suggest the board was closed down as the number of posts would be so small it would be pointless.

The only thing I have an issue with is that either the people discussing a bid are letting people into that knowledge who can not keep their mouth shut, which is why I suggested they should change some of their friends, or like you suggested they are purposely starting the rumours, in which case I wouldn't trust them.

You can think I'm a great poster or shit for all I care, I'm trying to have a sensible debate and you start asking if I've been hacked and misquoting me. I never made the comment about the owners having the ambition to take us forward, it was Mark who said they were the people to take us forward after he accepted the offer. And yes I'm aware Rhodes took his money, I don't blame him or Mark for that, but just don't act like you're doing the club a favour by selling when in reality it was for their bank balances. If you can't see the difference then there's no point continuing the conversation.

I have always liked you as a poster Bronco, it's obvious you only want success for the club and are always a passionate poster, but you can be so frustrating how you miss a clear point, whether you do it intentionally or not only you know.

 

But if it is the previous owners then a majority of due diligence will not have to be done as they are already know a great deal of information about the club.
I would suggest the major point would be how much debt the club has taken on in the meanwhile.
Most tangible costs would be pretty stagnant in the intervening 2 years since they sold

 

If they are happy to tell friends about a potential bid how is that rumour, and if they have told friends how do you know the friends have been sworn into secrecy
