Potential for what? If you check the links I posted, you will see that the club with the highest attendance in Super League, is not able to attract as many people as City!
It is the Saints with an average attendance of 13,711!
As the two links have pointed out the game is losing spectators.
Yes The Grand Final can attract far higher numbers, but that is a single game. The new Supa Odsal would not be big enough.
    Once again potential for what?

Full overview of averages attendances so far (May 2022)

    Saints 13,711 up from 11,910 (15% increase)

    Leeds 12,315 down from 12,727 (3% decrease)

    Wigan 10,815 down from 11,432 (5% decrease)

Hull FC 10,601 down from 11,478 (7% decrease)

    Castleford 8,932 up from 7,253 (23% increase)

    Warrington 8,769 down from 10,648 (17% decrease)

Hull KR 8,474 up from 8,220 (3% increase)

    Catalans 7,459 down from 10,259 (27% decrease)

    Huddersfield 5,501 up from 5,226 (5% increase)

There are two Rugby Codes. League and Union. This would be a Rugby League stadium. Professional Rugby League is predominantly a northern game. Apart from the Catalan Dragons, then the Super league Clubs are within a narrow belt no further than 15 miles from the M62. Attempts to generate significant interest in other parts of the country have not been successful. Not sure this is going to gain many votes for the ‘Southern Government’.
Sorry but your ‘advisor’ is ill informed.

The figures don't add up, the cost is far more than the grant, the income and benefits are over exaggerated and fairytale additions like solar farms and hotels are proposed costing millions more. A dome stadium for a summer sport at a failing team who at their peak would have been lucky to see what BCAFC are pulling in for a standard league 2 game.

This has all the hallmarks of complete and utter failure, but with the "we tried it's the governments fault" blame shift when this fantasy is rightly laughed out at the first stage.

Keighley won a £2.25m grant to build a new main stand a facilities because the plans were reasonable, thought out and realistic. There are no claims of it bring thousands of people into the area or them all spending £500 each. Just a new stand with what they need.

It's no surprise one has been granted and the other remains a fantasy first dreamed up nearly 50 years ago.

This is how Keighley have sold their plans.

There will be a dome stadium on the moon before there is one at Odsal.

I still have nightmares about watching us at that tip after all these years.

Much better at Leeds Road and Elland Road whilst Valley Parade was been rebuilt

It's been proposed by the Bradford Bulls and The Council. Just add Del Trotter to the conversation and you have your dream team.

There’s no joined up long term thinking with the powers that be in Bradford unfortunately.
Even if by some miracle this supersduperdome came off, it’s out of the city centre and would bring nothing to the city whatsoever

Its ideas like this that can truly transform a dying city centre. It creates employment and would be a facility with the potential to see growth like no other. £100 million there would build you something spectacular.

So if Odsal is to be a Music Venue as well, then what happens to Bradford Live (the old Odeon), which has planning permission to convert it to a 3,800 capacity music venue. Add to that St Georges Hall with a capacity of around 1,500 and the fact that Valley Parade could host some events.
Just smacks of desperation to try and find ‘simple’ fixes, but with no ‘joined up’ thinking!

There's a city about 10 miles down the road with a state of the art indoor arena and all the amenities that go with it. I can be there from Bradford in 15 minutes. There is no need for two arenas that close competing for the same acts.

Many artists and bands are now wanting to play the smaller more intimate venues, Bradford live will be of a size that makes it perfect. Personally i find these larger arena's soulless concrete blocks, like many of the more modern sports stadia.

Thank goodness Richard Dunns was given listed status, i'd dread to think of vandals getting in and wrecking the lovely ornate interior.....

There must be a world record for the largest number of toilet rolls per square kilometer on market days. They’re just everywhere!

What amazes me , is the expected spend level of visitors to the stadium 1.25 million visitors per annum (25000 per week)
to bring in over £600 million. Lets say 1 event a week, a concert i decide to attend with the wife and we book to stay in the hotel, you would be expected to spend somewhere in the region of £900 to £1000 for us both to reach that sort of income.
I don't think so, will get back in my car head of down the M606 onto the M62 and back home in an hour and a bit, like i do now when i visit the o2 in Manchester or the Sheffield arena , First direct in Leeds or even the arena in Liverpool.
The boat has sailed on this , it needed building 30 to 40 years ago, but as usual Bradford council are splashing around looking for someone to come along with a life raft and save them.

The point is, surely, that travelling into the city centre from South Bradford or Halifax to VP by public transport requires one bus or train. To get to Odsal from north of the City, where a lot of the support comes from, requires one bus or train to the centre and a change to get up to Odsal. It would greatly increase the journey time and inconvenience for thousands of regular fans
