As I said, its what was quoted on here by FG above. What wouldn't make sense is if we had, for arguments sake £8K a week to spend on wages and still couldn't secure targets for positions needed. So I doubt we are paying a massive amount for Butterfield

 

However much he is being paid its to much on what we have seen so far. He has had zero influence and we have regressed if that was possible

I have no idea what Derby would want us to pay, but I cannot believe for one minute we are paying £8k pw. Surely we would have spent that sort of money better. But, like yourself, I don't know the actual figure.

 

I just know if some is on 30k a week then that club won't let him out for 1.5k.

If this is the case then it makes no business sense at all from Derby.

8k is about right but hey he's been a let down so far but hopefully if he plays on Saturday he proves his worth.

It goes like this, Derby definitely are not going to use him, so the gain a bit of money to his upkeep, also puts him in the shop window, which is good for player and club. Secondly he hasn’t been as good or made an impact on the games as we would have liked. However, he has shown quality briefly, but he hasn’t played for a while, so he does need to get his sharpness back, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Might have missed the boat with targets and Butterfield may have been to cover Akpan's inconsistency on the field and with injuries. I agree he will not come cheaply and find it strange we did not strengthen our weak defence apart from injury prone Woods , a wide man and a forward who can hold up play and head a ball. We are only fans and will not be told- but to entirely blame Hopkin is bizarre.

 

They are still making a saving and if he is not near the first team then why not?

 

We need to get more out of Butterfield.

That will be critical.

 

I don't believe for one minute he's on £30k a week, but why wouldn't Derby let him out on loan and the team loaning him pay a set % of his wages.
Butterworth played 3 games for Derby in season 2017/18 and has been on loan since surely the club loaning him and paying 10% or 5% is better that for the lad and Derby, he's in the shop window each week and Derby aren't paying his full wage ?.

 

Credit where credit is due. O'Connor was immense today.

 

Did he get any abuse from the crowd?

 

There were a couple of knobheads in upper kop who bood him on his first touch but that was it.
