What I mean is, show me an example of what you'd consider to be 'abuse' of our players.

I'm not on Twitter, but I'm not seeing any real abuse. Not in large number anyway. What I'm seeing is justified anger.

 

You need to add a nasty sarcastic quip to the end of this post to make your point.

I agree Bantamsteve, I now would like to see the kids and fringe players brought in and the shower that are continually selected week in, week out completely banished. Ban them from the ground and training ground for the remainder of the season, shame them, they are the cancer within the club. We are down, make no mistake in that so we have nothing to lose by blooding the kids and fringe players. They most certainly cannot do any worse.

 

I was frankly ready to lynch him yesterday but he's come out and addressed it, and for me hes a tnuc but not a lying tnuc. Draw a line under it and move on as we have enough problems without adding to them.

Collared him sneaking onto the bus and his story changed twice from hurting his arm to stitching coming away. Told him straight that in 40 years watching City this was the most spineless, gutless disgraceful team in memory. Told us club was a shambles and had been all season!!

A shambles that he's the club captain of. Great stuff. The club being a shambles doesn't stop centre backs being able to head, clear and block stuff.

No doubt you've followed the club and spent vast amounts of money doing so mate. Trust me I wasn't have a dig at you just to make that clear pal.

My point is that i feel for all City fans that went all that way and left with this drama.

For me the armband to treated with respect and if they're problems with it then hand it to the staff. Don't just throw it in the net like it means nothing.

completely agree with all of that, if it was an issue for him i.e stitching there was nothing stopping him speaking to the ref and taking it over to the bench etc. Although I played football and captained the side at a shockingly poor level, giving your armband to the coach because its fecked is a v simple manoeuvre. As you say man its about respect.

If there's truth to this conversation with him then id be happy if he never played again. I've worked for some incompetent jokers in the past but I didn't roll over and down tools like this lot have.

 

what i saw over the past 48 hours has been some, not all obviously, but some stating they wanted to meet anthony o'connor and 'chin him', and then last night another twitter user advocating for all those that aren't at work tomorrow to attend the training ground and tell o'connor what they really thought of him.

in my opinion, there's a lot of faux outrage coming from a lot of people and emotions are running high but all o'connor has done is embarrass himself in this incident. tyrell robinson, has done more to drag the name of the club through the mud this season.

 

No arguing on the last point. And I wouldn't advocate violence although I think that's just emotion boiling over. And I suppose it would depend on what people wanted to tell him- I'd have no problem with anyone questioning his commitment, leadership and desire given his manner of performance for most of the season.

 

Robinson has been convicted of nothing at this stage.

 

i know, he has been arrested and currently under investigation on the suspicion of sexual assault.. for me that's worse than chucking a bit of fabric onto the floor. guilty or not guilty.

 

so if it was somebody else entirely and robinson was arrested by mistake cos he slightly resembled the guy but had eff all to do with any of it that would still be dragging the clubs name through the mud?

 

evidently that's not the case is it so you're comparing apples to oranges.

 

theres no evidence to prove anything at this point so you're just being presumptuous. From what I've read/heard it doesn't look good but you can't prejudice people based on the outcome of an investigation thats not even concluded yet, let alone the trial.

 

i haven't, i haven't said he is guilty or not guilty or suggested either way. i've said he was arrested on suspicion and haven't inferred to his guilt or his innocence. so let's look at those previous bradford city footballers that have been arrested and charged.

which is worse; throwing an armband away, being charged with assault, assaulting a partner x 2, armed robbery, robbery or currently living at her majesty's pleasure after being convicted of murder?

what o'connor did was foolish but let not pretend it's the worst thing a bradford city player has ever done.

 

As a general rule I don't care what players get up to off the pitch. Just produce quality and effort on it.
