Hadn't thought about BantamSteve's point but he may be right. This could be the words from above. A statement as strong as this would most likely be run past the boss first.

 

Its time Parker got the thoughts of the owner. Any number of players can roll up and give it the “not good enough” bleat, and we must try harder blah, blah, blah.

Rahic openly stated he wanted to hold more Q & A sessions, but since then we haven’t had one. Parker needs to push for his thoughts, is he happy with progress or lack of it, on the pitch? Why isn’t he coming out and backing his rookie coach?

Hopefully he’s too busy looking for alternatives.

 

If it was someone like Wright or Chicksen saying it you might have a point but O'Connor doesn't strike me as a yes man so I think this is all his own doing and good on him I say because it needed saying.

Ordinarily yes, but I get the impression the players are doing what they want and taking advantage of his naivety in management. We lack strong leadership and that’s painfully obvious on a match day.

You could be right and it might be the case that O'Connor didn't actually say anything about Collins and was just talking about his team mates. Then whoever vetted it (cough, Edin), said 'this is fine as long as we add something in to absolve Mikey of all responsibility'.

 

O'Connor did exactly the same thing when he was at Aberdeen but about the fans and not the players. He came in for a lot of flack after that from the fans but he didn't shirk away from it and carried on regardless which shows he has the bottle to do it. O'Connor and McGowan look a solid CH pairing but are let down by the full backs and the 2 clowns playing in front of them. Akpan has been a good midfielder playing in the championship so you've got to ask why his he playing so poorly at the minute, is it a fitness problem , tactics or the fact his central midfield partner is shite and he can't play along side him.

 

Lucky for us your not in charge.....obviously not watching what the rest of us are!!

 

On Akpan, a combination of both. He’s not fit enough, and is partnered by a crap Josh Wright. I think Akpan would look better next to Reeves.

I'd say it's definitely a fitness problem. He was blowing out of his arse at Shrewsbury, as was Wright. Fair enough, it was the first game but it hasn't really got any better. Remember, Saturday was due to fatigue! I think the while squad has a fitness problem.

 

Start by hitting your captain over the head with that spade O'Connor, his shocking attitude filters down on others. Never seen a Bradford City captain put in a more pathetic performance than Saturday, well not since last Saturday anyway.
