I posted similar earlier no way should Langstaff have had a clear run through our defenders Taylor should have done better even bringing Langstaff down outside the box, I can't see him getting a red as it could have been deemed other defenders could have made a challenged but he would certainly have got a yellow.

 

Looking at their third goal County won possession from Bobby, but it would be criminal to have taken him off for that mistake the lad Crawley still had plenty to do before he scored what was a quality goal.

 

Not at all I enjoy a neutrals input it gives balance to some posts on here, the point I was making is Andy Cook has made a living scoring goals at lower league football, I think he would be the first to accept his form so far this season has been a shambles, and yesterday he missed at least 4 chances he would have normally have buried, it would be stupid for anyone to think he could continue scoring in the ratio he did last season.
We have Oliver our other main striker coming back from injury and little else with regards strikers, when your main striker is going through a long lean patch like Cook is going through although we cant blame not making chances you have to think about resting him, he's very much a confidence player as most strikers are and you could see the more chances he failed to stick away yesterday the more frustrated he got, at one stage giving the referee an ear-full that I though he might have got at least a yellow for, maybe the the referee has played the game and realised he was winding himself up because of his poor form in front of goal and gave him the benefit of the doubt.

 

Nothing to do with “Stomach” more to do with in our case slow defenders who get caught when pressing slow defensive central midfield as well

 

As you say the problem didn't lie with Cooks contribution or for that matter Harry Lewis but certainly the other 9 outfield players, dare we bring Pointon inside and play the role Robbie Blake played.

 

I said earlier he had a great game. Yes 100% our best yesterday.

 

Difficult to blame our missed chances for yesterdays defeat, 4 - 0 down at half time is one massive hill to climb and wether County took their foot off the pedal or not it could have finished 4 - 4 which is a bit of a contradiction in itself once we got the second they looked desperate in defence.
Alexander hasn't been here a fortnight yet he got the starting formation very wrong and as someone pointed out could he have changed things after we conceded the second we'll never know but he'd certainly have learned a lot from yesterdays game, and if nothing else unlike some of our past managers he accepted the blame.

 

That centre back combination was in shambles at MK Dons and it was in shambles against Notts County.

I think it really is fair to say Stubbs/Taylor is an absolutely awful pairing.

 

Yes the Stubbs/Platt pairing looked to be the better of the two pairings.

 

Why would it cost u to bring Young back?

Because Michael Flynn said Swindon Town paid a fee for a season long loan, and while we have the ability to bring him back, we don't get to keep the money - so we have to pay them back for cutting it short as per the terms of the initial loan agreement.

Whether that amount is half the initial loan fee, the entire initial loan fee, or another figure nobody knows - it's just that Flynn has explained that we'd have to pay.

You would think any loan fee would be a very small fraction of the transfer fee we could get for him.

 

Yeah, that was also what Flynn was implying: both ourselves and MK Dons were most likely to recall our player if there was a significant bid coming in.

He said he didn't expect either of us to recall our player otherwise.

I imagine Sparks made something of a gentleman's agreement on that front.

 

Sad thing is that the same people who have bought this crap together are gonna get another chance.

If this is gonna be another season of nothing then now is the time to get all aspects of the club right before next sesson and thats includes our piss poor recruitment team.

If you can’t see that we were a much better team when we switched to 352 at HT, regardless of what County did or didn’t do, then I’d take up watching tiddlywinks if I were you. Teams who are just coasting comfortably to maintain a 4-0 HT lead play possession football, they don’t get pinned in their own half and concede the number of chances that we had in the second half. If Cook hadn't got his threepenny bit head on we'd have drawn that game. None of which excuses the first half.

 

Game started an hour before our improvement when it really mattered not at 4-0 down when the game was lost.
Course there was an improvement but i aint gonna get giddy on the back of that i would rather concentrate on the shambolic defemding during the first half.

Still if you can claim a hollow victory then well done but these players have been shite whatever system we have played unless we have played 4-4-2 all season ????

Btw at this point playing tiddlywinks would be more enjoyable than that shower ......... still least we win the 2nd half 2-0 bet Notts County are devastated

 

Bobby losing the ball is an occupational hazard as the poor sod has to do everything. Did anyone see his flick on?!? He is a great player. Allowed a few mistakes. Not like osadebes penalty box shenananigans. Onward we go.
