True. And I hope that this is remembered next time the party of the magic money tree try to use it.

Agree with most of that, but they didn't pay mortgages.

They instructed building societies and banks to offer payment holidays to those on furlough or in financial difficulty. Although the building societies and banks had to take the short term hit, they get it back long term as mortgage payments increased after the payment holiday ended.

Tell you what, might sound strange but I've got to give Johnson some kudos. Cos I don't think I've ever seen someone with the amount of brass neck as he has to come back to the politics table, like everyone has been zapped by the gun in men in black and have magically forgotten the last few years. The amount of people who would have hum back makes.me.worry for society's future, a lack of intelligence seems to be the norm these days.

There is no unity candidate ( much like Labour) in the Tory party, it needs to split with the right joining forces with the likes of the Reform party and the left with the Libdims ...

No matter the situation, the Tories were always good at showing some sort of United front, something that used to be alien to labour. Now they all need eyes in the back of their heads to prevent being stabbed in the back. I genuinely think that as the world becomes more accessible and people can get information from more credible sources than main stream media that folk are beginning to see modern day politics for the utter shit show that it is. That despite efforts to keep the majority of public dumbed down with their narratives. I look at Johnson and see nothing. No talent other than a comedic buffoon able to make folk laugh with his Frank Spencer like antics. Yet this tool is actually welcomed back by MPs and some of the public, the likes of which should have their ability to vote removed.

Hahaha that's very true. As in the post I've just written though I think folk are waking up to people like Johnson.

The so-called red wall Tories are putting self-interest before country.

Like going to a fancy restaurant and being so disgusted with the meal you send it back. Then the chef says well I'm not cooking another so you ask for the shite one back. But then this is British politics so we shouldn't be surprised

I’ve just read that he’s been on holiday for the last 107 days, interrupted with a few lucrative speeches in the US, over 3 months out of the country as a sitting MP. People will say I’m biased, but, is this STILL what kind of person they want as PM, really?

IF he does get back in, then politics is finished in this country as far as i'm concerned. I'd encourage everyone that is capable to go out on the streets and commit civil disobedience, in whatever form that entails.

The impression I get is that Boris is struggling to get the support of 100 MPs.

By claiming that he has already got such support, plus articles like this, he's trying to scrape the support of a few more MPs to get him over the line.

If he does get over the line, then it seems, for whatever reason, a majority of the Conservative membership will back him and he'll be PM again.

As for, who really would do best against the other parties, it may appear (to Conservatives) to be a case of who is the most charismatic leader is a winner, but with the scale of the problems facing much of the electorate over the next few years would suggest, to me that, in reality, it will come down to who will be most effective in dealing with the cost of living issues that are facing the country.
