It was clear as day that seeing as the only two candidates the Tories put forward to vote for were front and Centre during the Boris era, that it would be another shitshow. The speed that it has turned into a shitshow is quite impressive however.

This is all on the MPs who put forward to status quo and are now surprised at the results.

I enjoyed Gillian Tett's earlier comment (she's a financial journalist and editor-in-chief at the FT) when discussing the nature of the Truss Govt and its financial competence ..

"The UK is now the same as Italy ... but without the sunshine, glamour and good food"

Nah. It’s down to the Tory membership who voted for Truss as they couldn’t stomach the possibility of a PM of Indian heritage.

Truss knew her tenure would be short, not sure she knew how short it may be. She only wanted to be PM for the financial benefits.

"Two years as Prime Minister during these times and I'll get a book deal ensuring my family is set for life."

Rumours abound that Kwarteng is about to be replaced. Even Micky Collins lasted longer than this if true lol.

One of the richest economies in the world has the equivalent of Frank Spencer at the captain's chair. The football equivalent is when Edin put Collins, Drury and Abbott in charge of us. Unbelievable Jeff.

Kwasi Kwarteng has gone quicker than a Watford manager. Second shortest time in office, the person in first died of a heart attack 30 days into the job. So this is on incompetence alone.

The PM signed off this budget however, Kwasi is just the one thrown under the bus.

    What a shitshow.

I saw Penny Mordaunt tear the SNP one the other day, why the hell did they end up with Truss.

You wonder what Truss could do next to shoot herself in the foot, I'm half expecting Boris to be announced as Chancellor.

When he was called back from New York I guessed he was to be sacked. Teflon Truss has become Toxic Truss.
No doubt she'll tell journalists that apart from the energy saving idea, everything else was down to her friend the former chancellor.

Chris Philp who was Kwarteng's number 2 who was pushing the tax reductions has also gone.

Now watch Truss try and distance herself from 'Kwarteng's' mini budget to save her own skin. She might choose to ignore what she said in the election debates about reducing taxes, increasing public expenditure whilst growing the economy with her 'growth, growth, growth' plan but many won't forget her words. It takes more than a blue suit, flouncy blouse and riding in a tank to convince the electorate that she is a credible PM.

Despite trying to make her mate Kwasi the scapegoat and chucking him under the bus, she's still living on borrowed time.

Seems like it's only you who has an issue with Sunak's "heritage", given how you are repeatedly bringing it up.

The man is British - he was born, raised and educated in Britain. What's your problem with him?

4th chancellor having at crack at it within a year, during these times. I think I’d have preferred Johnson and Sunak to stay in office, if I’m totally honest.
