Exactly. Low taxation supposedly fostering investment and entrepreneurship. Where is the investment? It's all squirreled away offshore, not invested here.
Ten years pre-pandemic of slashing the public sector to 'free up 'the private sector to drive us forward and grow the economy. Except we've stagnated or gone backwards.
Privatising everything to 'improve efficiency'. Except our essential services are collapsing while private companies take profits and cut front line service standards.
The whole Tory Party is living in Dreamland, far removed from the experiences and needs of ordinary people. The levelling up agenda is dead in the water. No way can it be funded while those five jokers are in a Dutch auction to cut taxes, to please the small number of old, southern, affluent members that will eventually vote one of them into power.

Don't you believe the public will scrutinise the policies of both parties but more so a party that has not been in government for 14 years by the time the next General Election, lets give them a go its worth trying something different.trevor and Aaron Baker like this. -

Sunak and Truss into the final two is grimly uninspiring.
As unreliable as he was I can't help feeling that the Conservatives are going to end up regretting knifing Johnson.
The ball is very much in Labour's court currently. Can they come up with anything positive that is more than simply anti-Tory rhetoric?bantamdave41 and Salty like this. -

This will be my only political comment.
Lis Truss is my MP and more than happy to share our experience of her
She loves local photo opportunities with Vicars and the Women’s Institute
Her replies to letters are always the “party line”, “I fully support the PM” even after he had been fined and found to have lied.
There was a local cause re development of woodland and farmland whereby she once again turned up with the local press, and pretended to march in support of town and village protestors against the development. …She actually wore wellies and then promptly took them off after the photos had been taken. When we looked into her previous voting record we were amazed to find she voted on each and every occasion for the unsustainable development of green land.
So to be clear, we will get a self promoting version of Boris Johnson in a skirt.
If her Premiership is anything like her constituency work, she won’t last long.Bantamspaul and Jayteebee like this. -

Instead of Starmer screaming at the Tories for doung this and that, and instead of the loony left screeching on Twitter, and instead of the left wing media screeching - maybe a different tact is needed. Offer solutions, tell us what should be done. Might win an election.
The left have bern on the losing side pretty much since 2010.....referendums, general elections, european elections..Bronco and Tony Wilkinson like this. -

Boris will be back. The party membership will demand it, They like neither Truss or Sunak and after blunders by both they still believe Boris is the leader who can win the next election. We have far seen the end of Boris

Well this is the third female PM the Tories has put up.
Meanwhile the "diverse" Labour Party have a white male as leader. Like they have through their whole existence when elected within the party. The only time this hasn't been the case is during a caretaker role between electing a leader.Aaron Baker and Storck like this. -
Nothing will change, absolutely nothing. She’ll say a few words that keep the Tory base and hard of thinking happy. Then back to the same old shite.

She won’t win an election. Not because she’s really shit (she is). Or because Starmer is all of a sudden going to offer us a much better alternative (he won’t). It’s because I can’t imagine a sitting government getting another term when they’re worse off from when they voted last. Happened to the last Labour government, and it’ll happen to this lot. The Tories are done.
