Agree with most of this but I’m struggling to see who could better the start these two have had. If they get us to just outside the playoffs would you replace them if “better candidates” became available or would you extend the contracts? Bearing in mind they started from 2nd bottom (all hypothetical at this point).

It isn't moaning. I haven't seen anyone say they are unhappy with Trueman and Sellars continuing, quite the opposite. But let's stop pretending there has been a major change when that isn't the case. The situation is the same today as it was yesterday, they are still in temporary charge and the only difference is the club are calling it something else.

 

It's Trueman and Sellars by the way, they are co-managers.

I'm a bit confused as to why so many people think it's Trueman alone.

But for a lucky OG , they could have had a 100% record, so they could not have had a much better start.
4 games is not long enough though to judge them on, thats why i am happy with the decision to give the pair more time, but not commit fully with a long term contract.
If they continue to push us up the table and as you say, get us near the playoffs , then we can re-asses.
I think Ryan Sparks, has bought himself more time , to make sure we get it fight this time.

I don't understand the panic on here.
The club probably feel they have stumbled upon a gem with the Trueman/Sellers combination. They already know how good they are as youth team coaches and early results suggest they know what they're doing with the seniors. The club will be hoping that this pair are going to be a success and will be the long term management team we've all craved since PP and Parkin. But it's too early to put all their eggs in that basket. They need to see how they react to diversity and if they can maintain the intensity of the last few games. So they've given them a rolling secondment to prove that they aren't a flash in the pan. If they do that then they get the long term gig. If not, they go back to what they've been doing really well beforehand, running the academy.
I'd far rather the club took this approach than rush to appoint another dull, uninspiring manager like Hurst, who they clearly aren't convinced by.

I would imagine if they had lost all four, many would be saying you can't blame them, with the bag of shite we have for players.

 

My only concern is how much say these two actually have over the January window getting players in or out. I just hope they're not over ruled or not listened to by the new guy.

 

I'm quite interested in how the decision making process will work. What if the co-managers have different opinions, does the recruitment director get the casting vote?

 

Not unhappy with the "keep going for a bit lads" statement from the club but not too sure whether T&S should be they can be reverted back to the academy at a moment's notice regardless of results
It would seem that a suitable replacement for McCall could either not be found; financed or " sold the dream" which is fair comment but if eventually one is found and these guys have a taste for it then what !!
All could change if form dips Inthe next few games historically our form nosedives Jan\Feb do we then panic and appoint a previous unsuitable or do we stick withT&S
It's a real conundrum created by a modicum of success and a no win situation for Mr Sparks; with hindsight we can all praise\criticise this decision but in truth no one has a crystal ball

 

Perhaps we should wait a week before making significant signings. Just in case football does cease and the window is moved

Were told we still have a few bob left from the salary cap I think we'd be silly not to get the maximum out of it, we cant carry any monies not used over to the next season, if we are safe in midtable then give a few more of the kids a chance to make their mark with regards how near the first team they might be.
