If he has applied , then campbell will be guaranteed an interview wont he on the basis of the BAME/Rooney rule.

Did ok at Macclesfield, not so well at Southend i dont think. Has had his critics, and im not sure his ego would win him many fans up here. Saying that, and if its true what Mccall said that finishing 3rd bottom we'd be happy with then, why not. He's got experience of that

Because as outlined above, he's got a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Not sure he'd get many fans onboard. Probably would scare the hell out of Rupp and Sparks though.

Almost. It was the late great Kirsty McColl. And she covered Bragg's New England.

He was owed a fair bit of cash. I’m pretty sure if you were being made redundant and your employer decided they didn’t or couldn’t pay up then you’d be slightly pissed off and would look to get paid for the job you’d done. Which by the way he had done well. Kept Macc up when they looked absolutely shafted.
The majority of you on here wanted Bowyer before he was appointed and then all signing McCalls name when that went tits up. Now people want PP back yet not doing anything of note since leaving us. Bolton and Sunderland fans absolutely hated his brand of football.
We need someone completely new. Someone completely disassociated with the club. If that’s Sol Campbell then that’s fine by me. Is he any worse than Paul Hurst or Paul Heckingbottom?? Who knows. I doubt it!

We’re a league 1 side, just in the wrong division.

Steven Pressley’s remarks still echo for me. What a bitter man!

Apparently, the song was written by MacColl and Philip Rambow I have to admit Philip Rambow’s career had passed by me.

He was owed about £180,000 by Macclesfield. He owns an expensive property portfolio in London, we're talking property worth tens of millions of ££££. It's not a fair bit of cash to him, it's chump change. He wanted a community asset liquidated because they owed him a few quid and he wasn't willing to write it off.

As someone else has pointed out he tried to liquidate Macclesfield for the money he owed them. If Benny & Ward had had the same view we wouldn't be here. No thanks, BAME/ Rooney rule is one thing, but experience and ability massively overrule that. We aren't in a position to build someone's experience whatever background they have. We need a guaranteed and proven manager like Alexander.

I have to admit, I'm siding with Alexander. Seems to have the right attributes. Why did they sack him at Salford?

Who are you to say what he should and shouldn’t be paid because of what his personal worth was. He was owed £182k for his work. End of.

I have no idea if he wanted them liquidated apart from what the rags say but it was HMRC who issued the winding up order. Maybe they should just leave them alone as they were a community asset. The world doesn’t work like that.

I'm not debating the legitimacy of his claim to be owed £182k, I agree that he was owed the money. I'm saying that it was morally questionable to insist on his debt being repaid knowing what the consequences would be and given that he could apparently afford to waive the debt.

I think it is relevant when considering whether he is a suitable manager for Bradford City right now. Given Bradford City's precarious situation, do we want to appoint a manager who we know will insist on getting his pound of flesh from us if things go disastrously wrong?

Apply. You'd get an interview at the very least!
Would be great then, if you could post on here how the interview was - who hosted it, who asked questions, and what they were etc. Very interesting indeed.

Luke Garrard – Boreham Wood manager tipped for higher things. Spent most his playing career down south, but seems to be making good reputation at that level. Of the ones we know about, Paul Hurst and Heckinbottham look reasonable shouts - suspect Cowley is likely to get better offers.

I don’t think Campbell is a bad shout. Could have decent connections still for brining players in.
Though him coaching our defence might be a bit like the clip of Glen Hoddle, showing something and making it look easy and our players just falling over

And can you say that from any of the other candidates mentioned that they wouldn’t want their money too? If we’re going off your argument then actually someone like Alexander or Hurst would be less well off than Campbell so would quite happily see Bradford liquidated.
