How can people say Warnock is uninspiring. The man gets Promotion nearly at every club he manages. Including to the premier league Ridiculous fans sometimes.

I'd agree if the odds were better

Wouldn't surprise me. He gets on fine with Rhodes, it was always Lawn he had a problem with

I could see a Warnock/McCall stint with Stuart taking over at the end of the season - I'd admire him for that, it would be good for him to take a step back, work with Warnock and be a better manager

Apart from the owner Drury is the only connection to the old regime, he has to go for me and the new manager brings his own men it, OK maybe a more expensive deal but hopefully this appointment is the correct one.

He was on the radio the other day saying Sharon, his wife, has given him permission to take one last job this season but then that's it. So he retires after taking Bradford City up this season and his successor, perhaps Nathan Jones, takes over for the League One campaign in June. Sounds good!

Warnock and mcCall for me as well. They've worked together before. At this stage of the season for someone to come in that doesn't no the club cud be a gamble. Stuart knows the club inside out and along side warnock think it's the best option available and one the fans wud get behind

‘Tisdale for me all day long, not Nolan never Nolan.

Would be happy with Warnock till end of season, we need someone that’s going to have an impact on the mentality of this team which lets not forget have let themselves down big time over the last few weeks.

Nolan is a massive risk, you make out he's the second coming:
" Mate, for me Nolan has to be in the frame.

We need a manager that the players will look up too and respect plus is ambitious with a network to call upon. He fits the bill plus it allows the owner, Rhodes etc to sort themselves out in their own time and maybe make appointments like a sporting director"
, if he's that good why is he been out of work for the last 18 months, and why did the above mentioned not work for him at Leyton Orient & Notts County, sorry Fordy more a stab in the dark mate than a serious candidate.

He would be my first choice, but think we have very little chance of tempting here to be honest. Bookies offering long odds too.

Looks like a 2 horse race to be honest between McCall and Nolan. Do not see the appeal of Nolan at all to be honest. However, if it is him, I will certainly back him and hope he proves me wrong

Shame Holloway still not available. I think his personality would have been a great fit here.

Does this club never learn, Nolan would be an appalling choice. One decent season at Notts county and then nothing. Played for and learned his trade under Sam Allardyce. Say no more.

I remember a day like this, leaving for the train, we were managerless, stood at the platform waiting for the train to arrive and then....

    BOOM!

    Michael Collins! :eek2::joy:

Hopefully today won't be that bad....

    Will improve the atmosphere
    Puts bums on seats
    Plays attractive football
    Knows the club inside out
    Has a decent record here

It makes perfect sense for this moment in time.

Have to agree with you. I wouldn’t be disappointed with McCall but just think it’s a far too easy decision that doesn’t necessarily fill me with long term confidence. There’s no doubt he will have an instant impact on club morale which may have a positive roll on effect. However I feel as a club we need so much more than this, someone who can get into the roots of the club and start challenging us at every level.

Based on this, I really want Warnock. However he can’t be short term. He needs to be on a 18-24 month contract at absolute minimum. We need someone who has the balls and experience to challenge us at every level. Not saying McCall can’t do that, but Warnock takes no prisoners and at the moment, that’s what I want to see in my club.

A return of the Warnock / McCall partnership would be absolutely ideal, but no way I believe that will happen or that we can afford it.

How naive and soft are some of our fans thinking Drury would even be considered on a short term basis. I know our club make strange decisions at time but come on have a word with yourselves.

Hopefully he's taking training whilst Warnock is sorting out the contracts for them both.

Who was supposed to leave last time? Given the chairman at the time were too head strong to change after only being there 18 months. And you cant sack the under performing squad half way through the season. If the manager in that spot in Jan 2018 was anyone but McCall, nobody would have that mindset.

He had 9 games from the wheels coming off to his sacking. With 6 points out of 27, a -11 goal difference in those 9 games alone and we scored in 7 of them. For reference, Bowyer's last nine in charge had 10 points out of 27 and a -4 difference. Both cases, play off chasing teams in terrible form. When you get to that, managers leave.

It is lazy but it also makes a lot of sense in the short term, until the end of the season at least.
