we could do that anyway we were never part of the schengen agreement. that agreement was free movement and it has literally never ever applied to us.

EU citizens always had free movement within the EU or why did Cameron go back to the EU and try and get a better deal with regards EU citizens needing a job to come to and not getting unemployment benefits straight away etc, which he thought he could sell as a good deal to the UK electorate, nearly as bad as May's great deal.

And it was going so well, typical reply from a bad loser, having a go at the leave voters who by the way actually won the debate twice, as it looked like the remain MPs were going to drag if out with no agreement.
The Tories kicked Mother Theresa out, Boris becomes leader on a Brexit ticket and gets a 80+ majority, many past Labour voters realising Boris is the only PM serious enough to take the EU on.
Many of the EU countries are up in armes after the EU budget that was put before them and now countries like Italy are suggesting they could have a referendum, could it be the beginning of the end of the EU.

Why did Cameron try to renegotiate better terms for the UK with the EU with regards free movement, then said he would offer it to the electorate before the referendum if it wasnt free movement within the EU.

I accept the result with no issues and literally said you guys won enjoy it, I don't see how that's me as a bad loser unless you're insecure in the first place. You literally won the vote and you're out here saying pity us poor brexiteers. Try having something foisted on you thats made your job and career more difficult, more expensive, more time consuming and restricting in the name of sovereignty and freedom.

Why do we need to 'take the EU on'? they aren't our enemies, certainly not our biggest issue geo-politically, and legislatively the EU controls us far less than you think. Economically we have greater challenges and threats so I dont see why its such a priority. The latest budget was very tone deaf, but hey who knows it could not be the end because they could all sit round and talk it out after looking at what a shit show we've made of leaving so far and deciding they don't want to end up as irrelevant as we are now. And if it does collapse, do you think our global rivals so to speak would be sad? Or do you think countries like Russia etc would much rather see Europe divided, isolated and 'taking each other on'?

The subject wasnt mentioned until you brought it up, I quoted Starmer would need to review his and the Labour parties stance on Brexit, as he believes we would be better in than out that sort of thinking will not get the likes of me and thousands more voting Labour again you really would think by now that Starmer and the Labour party realised what the last general election was all about Ostrich and sand come to mind.

I didn't bring anything up, you said something that was factually incorrect and I corrected you and then you went off on some weird tangent about cameron and mays deals and called me a sore loser. As I said, we aint part of schengen and never have been. Cameron lied about freedom of movement like the myriad people on the right who have lied about Europe over the years when it suited them to do so (Boris actually made a 20 odd year journalistic career from repeatedly doing this). One of the few positives from Brexit is that the right will have absolutely nowhere to hide and nobody to blame but themselves when they feck up in future (apart from immigrants and brown people but they'll never stop doing that), instead of hiding behind fabricated EU legislation that doesn't actually exist.

I might join twitter again just to read the comments on this appointment - should be an amusing way to wile away a few hours.

The comments are worth a read although a lot just repeat the same mantra over and again. Just been looking through Kiers choices in his first cabinet. Some of the job titles are bewildering for a start, shadow minister for cultural industries to name but one. And some of his choices....

The promotion to the shadow cabinet is a surprise although being Labour they have to show they have a balanced party male & female on the front bench, Community Cohesion she has history with regards anti-semitism and grooming gangs, not the best thought out appointment.

I was agreeing with your post, limited talent if that's the case make sure an appointment like this does not leave Starmer wide open to criticism, as we know its dog eat dog in modern politics.
Unlike you to be facetious :).

Looks like a Tory government for the next few decades with appointments like that. She can hardly string a sentence together.

I think he is probably referring to an internal report they were preparing for the EHRC. Apparently it shows that behind the scenes there were factions working against JC. Now not sure why that is a surprise when it was obvious the party was split.

Also not surprising that the report done by someone JC appointed found people were working against him and everything he did was ok.

strangely they have decide not to send the report to EHRC as they would have published it

I think thats an area where he's not helped himself at all but I would have just had him in to speak about and made sure the reports recommendations were implemented in full. kicking him out just feels like a case of optics rather than tackling the issue.

I do just want to stress I dont hold any antisemitic opinions myself and I'm against hating people for who they are no matter what form that takes. I'm not seeking to condone anything the report found was a failing, i just disagree with how starmers gone about his reaction to it.
