RLB will get the job because the other contenders and their supporters will be subject to intimidation from the corbynistas and his mafia....

I have not been taking much notice of the race for the next Labour leader to be honest.

I do like my politics, but just think I am suffering from overkill with all the brexit talk and recent General Election.

Not sure who the party will turn to, but whoever they do, has a massive and thankless task in my opinion in turning around the popularity of this once proud working class party.

Even though I have always voted Conservative since 1979, the country needs a strong opposition party, and there isnt even a hint of there being one in the near future.

They try and make something out of Cummings for controlling Boris but we all know Corbyn has never made a decision for himself in his life.....
Also, re deputy leadership contest, if Burgon wins he will leave a nasty smell wherever he goes....

I don't think Long-Bailey will win. I think it will be either Starmer or Nandy.
I know a lot of Labour members and almost all are planning on voting for one or the other, with both as first and second preferences.
I expect to see Long-Bailey make it to the final two but lose to either Starmer or Nandy on second preferences. Either of those can unite the party but RLB would just deepen the divisions.

It's not just about political preference - although I think RLB is seen by many members as too close to Corbyn to appeal to the wider electorate. I think most of the membership recognise that the LP needs a good communicator as leader; one who can effectively challenge Johnson's bunch of toffs, yes men and unelected dictators and hold them to account. Both Starmer and Nandy can do that; RLB can't. Johnson will certainly not get the free ride he got from Corbyn with either of those across the dispatch box from him.

I also think that either of those would conduct a much-needed clean out of Labour HQ and marginalise the Trots and Tankies like Milne and Lansman.

One thing is certain - if RLB becomes leader then I'll resign my membership and I predict that many others will do the same.

Its a shame because if they could connect the interchange line with the forster sq line it would open up a new route to scotland from london. Great connectivity plus the line could move on to manchester a different route.

He'll be under real pressuer then! This complete bollox is prevalent, hopefully he will stick it out.

I love this stuff :brig:, "Anatomy is not always a good guide to determining a child’s sex". Which should read, for any sane person. "Anatomy is virtually always a good guide to determining a child’s sex".

Be helpful if you were more truthful in your posts, We get you do not like this government but twisting or lying does not help your case,

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps will be Cabinet Minister in charge of Northern Powerhouse after Jake Berry quits --- ( ie Not Sacked or removed )
Boris Johnson has chosen Transport Secretary Grant Shapps to promote the Northern Powerhouse at CABINET LEVEL

Whilst Corbyn is now a busted flush and should probably have resigned straight after the election, it is ironic that we have never had such socialist agenda being pursued in our history.
Even stranger that it is a Tory government that is having to save Capitalism through Socialism.

Another Champagne socialist who will appeal to Londoners and less so to northerners. A clever bloke though and once again no woman leader

He looks nice though. Labour could put Nookie the bear in charge, they'd still rip each to bits with internal fighting. Until they stop beating themselves they will never beat anyone. As it currently stands Labour as a party are finished until the warring factions drop their own agendas. Its one thing the Tories do very well, they hate each other behind the scenes but always put on a united front of sorts when it comes to winning elections.

No ethnic leader either. What's your point about no woman leader?

Who cares if a it's a woman or not? Labour needs the best leader possible because they've gone from PL to div 2 quicker than Bradford City and they need to make the next 4 years count.

If Labour can't win the next general election then I feel it could end them.

He has 12 months to make a difference.

Seriously Bradford City have more chance of getting to the Premier League than Keir Starmer and his crew have of overturning an 80+ majority, at best with policies that appeal to many past Labour voters they may have a chance in 2029 if the government run their full terms.

Very lightweight and inexperienced, my 2 concerns are Long Bailey as shadow education secretary like we need any more marxists near our kids and Jon (6 million patients lying on trolleys in hospital corridors) Ashworth, a right painful pair to listen to.......

As Tone said, i would have loved to have seen more of his car crash interviews. Shame he was replaced by an equally useless fool.
