So you can name yourself after a famous British comedy character, but Edward Elizabeth Hitler can't? Bizarre!

 

It got us nowhere because Collins said in his post match interview he gave them chance to turn it around.
Maybe if he'd made these changes at half time we could gave turned it around because once those three we're introduced the game changed and we were on the front foot attacking Wycombe and looking dangerous.

 

Totally agree. We do this properly. Just reading some of these posts and the way ppl are trying to change the conversation away from the owners who are responsible for what is happening. Keep it focused.

It's too soon to protest in my opinion. I really wouldn't want us to create the kind of toxic atmosphere seen at Blackpool or Charlton games. The owners have clearly invested more in the team this season than they did last season, it's just baffling why they decided Collins was the man to lead us forward.

I think they are trying, I just don't think they are competent. I tend to see Charlton and Blackpool's owners as cynical opportunists who are genuinely trying to siphon money out of the clubs. I tend to see our owners as bungling investors who don't really understand what they are doing.

Why do people try to imply race is involved so much of the time these days. It is becoming tiresome.

This has NOTHING to do with race and everything to do with ruining our club and putting a U-turn on the progress we were making - oh, and sacking a City legend enroute.

If where they are from has nothing to do with why do people sometimes bring it up when complaining about them, eg the person telling them to back to Germany?

 

In general it is people who can’t hold a debate or have little understanding of the racism or xenophobia arguments. No understanding of the human psyche, the majority who support their hometown team have an identity that encompasses their team.

 

I sometimes feel we have gone backwards on here and we are having the silly debate about, is it racists to call coffee black? For me it would be xenophobic if it was accompanied by insults and segregation quotes. For instance ‘ go home German bastewards’ this is clearly a xenophobic statement; if ppl were referring to their heritage in trying to understand the cultural differences it wouldn’t. Where someone comes from is their heritage, their culture and one most ppl own with pride.

 

I'm no fan of our current owners and their choice of coaching team/model, but tbh, i think protesting is far too premature. They need to be given more time to put the nails firmly in their own coffin. Things are pretty bad, but I don't think doing anything now will be viewed with any kind of credibility at all. I expect however, if the status quo remains, it may become inevitable down the line. But certainly I'd hang fire, I think the owners will be well aware of the 'atmosphere' just simmering under the surface. If they choose to do nothing and it continues to get worse in terms of results, and as important - the manner of our performances, then they'll fully deserve any flak coming their way.

If you notice I didn't say it was racist or xenophobic. The person I quoted stated it had nothing to do with where the owners were from so if that is true why does it keep getting brought up by some of those who want them to leave. Obviously it does have something to do with it to those that bring it up otherwise why mention it?

 

As above Skyebantam, nothing positive to be gained from it right now. Personally I think Edin has got himself into a hole he's never ever going to be able to dig himself out of, I take no pleasure in that because it must be extremely worrying for him after his investment, financial and personal.

We were sold a plan and then watched as it flip flopped all over the place to no plan at all, just a mess. McCall to Grayson to Collins WTF?

 

If they were from Huddersfield and someone said get back to Huddersfield does that make them racist in any way, shape or form. Does it mean that they dislike all people from Huddersfield?

Or, heaven forbid, what if they were from Bury and someone said 'get back over t'hill to Lancashire where ya belong'. What's that? Countiest?

'German' is not a race, it is a nationality.

Now, if people are saying offensive things it doesn't matter where they are from they should be dealt with. Throw them out of the ground if needs be. But come on. Saying get back to Germany is hardly offensive, unless you're a snowflake.
