We all know this season is going nowhere, Stuart will imo get us sorted out and is the right man, but we do need shut of this rubbish from the rahic era and the uninspired dross Bowyer signed, I might have been one of the ones who said Bowyer had lost the team, he had, although now I don’t think anyone could get a tune out of them, too many hangers on such as Akpan, a disgrace to the shirt.

Donaldson has been crap too, no wonder Bolton fans I know didn’t rate him, time to retire fella. Another supposed messiah , when he was out, that isn’t.

Div 2 next season might be stronger but we’ve fallen well short this time so bring it on we've gotta be more competitive than this shambles.

We have plenty of time now and spaces available in the squad to get players sorted now for next season, but you just know we will be scrapping around for bargains at the end of the window.

I'd suggest it's a very logical call, to get us back to where we were, a very good league one club who were there or there about's the last two season prior to Rahc's tampering.
We ain't going nowhere this season by the looks of it, so if Stuart can get us up next season with this lot still under contract pruning the squad and bring more reliable players in that in itself will be a good achievement, let's not forget in Stuarts first season he had some very reliable players already at the club, looking at what he has now is far from that situation.
Your always the one with your outrageous comments please back it up with a thought out reply, your the first to call the hierarchy at the club not up to the job, and won't finance us going forward, so please tell us why you believe 5 years is tosh ?

What we'd all love to see is an ambitious plan that has a level of investment by our owners. But it isnt happening.

So we need to think about what the club wants to be in 5, 10 years time. Keeping it cheap to attract the masses wont cut it. And I think its outdated anyway. The next generation of fans, consumers and younger consumers in particular, want quality and are prepared to pay for it. The games changed , times have changed and we haven't changed with it. The 'poor little Bradford' image is over played. Yes we're a working class city, but so are many others.

Prices are going to have to go up, so we need to look at when and how to do it, and in what context. The playing budget - and squad size - is going to have to come down. We need to invest in the fabric of the club that might generate improvement over the longer term. The pitch, scouting, coaching. Invest in those. Do it properly. Focus on youth and embrace being a feeder club. Create a more modern playing style (which I think Stuart can actually do), focus on pace, technique.

Basically, Edins plan, but done properly.

In that sense I'd agree. In fact, I don't see us becoming a playoff contending league 1 side within 5 years.

For me, spend nothing now. Nothing reactionary or half arsed. Do it in the summer, properly.

You have your opinion you might be correct, you say you'd love to know the basis of the statement/comment I'd suggest working on a weekly basis at the club and being much nearer things that are going on within the club would give the likes of @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler possibly as good an insight as we could get, without a comment/statement from the top people at the club.
Why would you suggest it's bollocks, you say 1-2 years maybe I suggest that is the shortest time it would take Stuart to get us back to being a very good league one side challenging for promotion to the Championship, I won't call it bollocks but maybe a little unrealistic shall we say.

What we have got to realise is that from now on Rupp will only invest the inimitable amount that is needed to keep our head above water I.e. The relegation zone! So until somebody comes along and can persuade him to accept whatever is on the table then we haven't got prayer.

keeping it cheap is what gives us a crowd. Start charging more for this dross and it will be one man and his dog.

    Short term thinking.

Keep it this shite, and however cheap it is, crowds will drop.

Not suggesting we simply put prices up. It's about timing and context of what we're trying to do.

There's a pervading view tha people only come because it's cheap. We need to stop thinking 'price' and start thinking 'value'

And yet ... and yet ... incredibly given the run we’re on we’re still in touch with the playoffs. It’s too early to write the season off. However unlikely it seems we still have to believe it can still be done. I think Stuart now knows the extent of the problem and I will be surprised if he doesn’t try to beef us up by looking at the free agents.

give people something to watch then they might pay a bit more. Don't expect them to pay up front.

just noticed that this was my 1000th post. I'd like to thank my mum and dad for having faith in me that I wouldn't waste my private education. Also my wife for her patience. But most of all I would like all those hours back.

Not that I disagree with your post but Stefan Rupp has publicly stated he will do his best to get us back to where we were prior Rahic's screwed up, so I doubt he will think he can kid us City fans with as little financial input as possible.
This is where I'm a little confused, to get us back there without money being made available to the manager he is going to have to be extremely lucky IE the club getting Cup runs that generate finance he is failing to put in.
Obviously Rupp does not want to see his investment reduce in value but he is totally unrealistic if he believe someone will pay £10m for a league two football team, in fact I'd be surprised if anyone would pay that for a very successful league one side.

I know Fordy it’s a massive squad but massively unbalanced. Another team today looked so much bigger than us. Our big guy, Everton, is only about average height in
    this division.

A while since I've been to a City game but as I have been in South Wales all week and am considering getting a season ticket next year for the first time in 10 years I thought I'd go today and see what I thought.

    Conditions were terrible.

The defending of corners and set pieces was shocking, McCall as manager has to take responsibility for that. He needs to organise them better. When Newport attacked we looked fine, when they won a set piece we looked edgy.

Maybe the pitch didn't allow it but Im not actually sure what our plan was today? Hoof it up to Donaldson and Novak and hope they could do something? Our wingers barely got chance to stretch their legs and run and for me we seemed to miss a deep lying midfielder who could receive the ball in space.

Finally the fans....Christ, their performance was worst than the team. Heard nothing but negativity. I don't think I've ever been to a football match of any team where the fans have sang "you're shit and you know you are" to their own player whilst he is trying to take a corner kick. Bunch of middle aged reprobates at the back of the stand I was sat. At full time fans behind the goal went down to the front row to give the middle finger, wan.ker signs and shout abuse at the players who walked over to clap them. Embarrassing. People are entitled to voice frustration but wow, why travel 250 miles to do nothing but complain and abuse your own team? No one is forcing them to go to the game.
