As I said in earlier posts, the development of the Richard Dunn site as an elite training facility for the three professional clubs, plus use by the University and Education and some ‘out of hours’ community use would be most appropriate for the Richard Dunn. The Odsal site could be used by industrial/commercial/residential development.Storck and Mason Handshake like this. -
Of course some of us traveled to Huddersfield for our home games. When needs must.
Odsal is a pretty awful stadium. That's not because it's at odsal, that's because it's an awful stadium. Build a modern covered stand 'enclosed' stadium and it will be a completely different experience. Heck you could even incorporate a bar that serves real ale! -

If and when we start to clime the football pyramid the rent becomes less and less relevant, although Ryan has commented with regards having talks with Gibb I can't see what he can do to help the club apart from buying Stefan out, Gibb has to honour the agreement struck with the Pension Fund and Bradford City why would he accept less rent and have to make up the difference up himself, IMO we ain't going nowhere and Gordon Gibb is well aware of it and basically has us over a

Couldn't imagine playing at any other ground. How much would a stadium of similar capacity cost??
It would have to be joint-funded and it would only be a good idea if we had a billionaire owner that could build a super complex...
Good researching thanks....and well in that case we are never movingStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
I'm familiar with a lot of the new / newer grounds and it is almost never the owner or Chairman's money. Here are a few.
Scunny - Moved from the Old Showground from sale to Safeway. Planned to move again to sell for extension of the Retail Park next door but there is no more retail expansion and it fell through.
Walsall - Moved from Wallows Lane from sale to Morrisons, plus income from the non food Retail Park at Bescot.
Bristol Rovers - had planned a new stadium from sale to Sainsbury but that Company like others has curtailed development.
Wigan - Combined stadium on the back of old Central Park sale to Tesco and I think the football ground went for housing.
Shrewsbury - Sold Gay Meadow for hosing, being a prime central site in a nice town.
Morecambe - Sold Christie Park? to one of the German Discount stores.
The similar exists in Scotland where due to low attendances most Clubs are a community focus for conference and dinner events to assist income so look at this angle.
Falkirk - sold Brockville to Morrisons funding better facilities at new stadium.
Kilmarnock - sold Board owned land to Morrisons funding stadium facilities.
St. Mirren - sold Love Street to Tesco, now a housing site.
Hamilton Accies - did a partial land swop with Morrisons in return for exclusive decked car park for functions.
St. Johnstone - sold Pert Road to Asda, funding new stadium.
There will be others, the point is very few owners have committed personal monies but have had an existing asset to trade. I gave my views on value earlier.Interested Bystander and Captain Grumpy like this. -
