Come on Ricc, I agree with you most of the time but this O'Donnell obsession is a bit strange.

 

Not much in it with any of them, IMO.

O'Donnell is fine.

A typical goalkeeper for the bottom two divisions.

It’s the fact that some people think it’s easy to just go out and replace him. And you’ve already made your mind up about a kid you’ve not even seen play yet. As I said.... delusional.!!!!

O’Donnell ISN’T “shite” as you put it, irrespective of what you think. You may not rate him, but until March, he was one of the better performers.

As I’ve said before, it’s a case of “anyone but O’Donnell”, but the reality is, there aren’t many better for this level. We have this same bullcrap merry-go-round every closed season;
McLaughlin - get rid; not good enough
Williams - get rid; not good enough
Brad Jones - get rid; not good enough
Doyle - get rid; not good enough
O’Donnell - get rid; not good enough

Christ, some even questioned the ability of Jordan Pickford, especially after his 2nd red in the space of 4 games. As I said, people’s expectations of a L1/L2 keeper is just unrealistic

 

All of which you’ve seen a couple of times at most, so have no idea if they can maintain a level of performance over a season

 

Loach has just dropped into the National League with Barnet so can't be that good at L2 level.

Sorry but you’re wrong. O’Donnell is crap.

 

But you rate Doyle who made howlers just like O'Donnell? At least O'Donnell has the excuse of what is in front of him and the fact he was a player/coach for the majority of the season.

 

Colin Doyle? He’s a lot better than OD. Commands his box better, flaps less, better shot stopping.

Ricc if you went to the games you will realise up until December O' Donnell kept us the games single handedly. We then had a full team effort for a month then every single player was terrible including the god awful Billy Clarke who I believe you think is actually a good player. If I had a defence like that in front of me I doubt I would have much confidence either. You're a very blinkered individual if you think O Donnell is crap

 

I think we've all got high expectations of keepers, because we've had some decent ones in the past. For every Schwartzer, Walsh, Clarke, Coombe, there's Eastwood, Davison, those two German fellas, plus a load of other ones I have put to the back of my mind (someone called Zabica is knocking and wants to come out).
Lets hope at least one of our three keepers on the books puts a good performance in this season.

You mean the spl where Doyle has been a sub mostly?

 

He still got a move there. Back up or not. OD could only dream of attracting interest from that level because he’s crap.
